Chapter 49

Vanessa POV

My alarm clock went off around eight. I rubbed my eyes and lay staring at the ceiling, I rolled over and realized that Jack was sleeping there. I had forgotten he was even here. I was watching him sleep. I knew this sounded a little creepy, but he was adorable when he slept. His eyes fluttered open and he pulled me closer to him.

"Hey, beautiful..." he said in a raspy voice. I could literally feel my heart exploding in my chest.

"Hey," I whispered. He smiled and closed his eyes again. It was a couple of minutes before him opened his eyes again. I blushed because I was staring.

"I want to wake up like this everyday..."he said rubbing circles with his thumb on my cheek. He smiled for the millionth time this morning. I slid out of his grip and got up. It was Sunday an I had no plans, so I went into my bathroom and took a shower. I could Jack talking to someone who sounded like my mom. I jumped out of the shower and pulled a robe on and ran into my bedroom. There they were talking jack sitting on my bed and my mom in the doorway. She looked genuinely happy.

"Hi honey! You never told me you had a boyfriend!" she chirped.

"He's not my boyfriend..." I reassured her.

"Is he a male hooker or something? That would explain why he slept with you..." she said chuckling.

"Mom! That's not funny!" I said pushing her out of the room. I closed the door and went back to the bathroom and changed. I throw my hair into a waterfall braid and left the bathroom. Jack was sitting on my bed watching the news. His face went pale and went running through my house and out the door.

"I'm so sorry, Vanessa!" he yelled from down the road. I wave of worried rushed over me. I had no idea what was happening, but I need to find out.
