Chapter 41

Vanessa POV

We pull up to my driveway at 7 in the morning. I look at Matt who has dark circles under his eyes. He smiles when he feels me staring.

"Ya like what ya see?" He said with a smirk.

"Shut up Espinosa.." I said opening the car door. Matt followed and we were off to the door. I stood on the front steps shaking cause I was so nervous. My hair had changed and I looked in a mirror for six months. I lifted my hand knock on the front door. It took a minute then the door opened revealing my mom's confused face.

"Vanessa..." she said in a whisper.

"Mom.. it's me.." I said trying not to cry. She came out the door and hugged me till I couldn't breathe. I hugged back.

"I thought you were in jail.." That one hit hard. I choked on my words when Matt saved me.

"They realized they were wrong and let her out on parole, I'm Matt by the way.. " he said extending his arm for my mom to shake. She looked at him then me. I was crying and he was getting frustrated at my mom.

"VANESSA!!" Mahogany and Skylynn scream as the tackle me for a hug. Mahogany looks at Matt and jumps into his arms.

"I missed you guys!" She said. She led us I to the house and got us drinks. My mom looked uncomfortable around Matt. Mahogany showed me and Matt the guest room cause Skylynn took my old room. Once I left Nash' s mom gave Skylynn to my parents.

I started unpacking while Matt was taking a shower. The door opened and Matt came in with only a towel around his waist. I closed my eyes as he teased me.

"I know you want this Vanessa..."

"I'm all set thank you.." I said pushing him out the door realizing how sturdy he was.

"Get dressed Espinosa I have a surprise for you..."
