Chapter 12 - "That's my ex."

Kendrick's POV
Monday

Leah and I have been hooking up ever since we met. You might call it 'moving too fast', but I think it's fine as long as neither of us catches feelings, but I doubt it. I don't like to label things.

Now there's a carnival open and we decided to go after school. I picked her up at 2:30 and went.

Everything was fine until I saw Ali and her I guess new boyfriend Daniel arrived. Ugh it kind of bugs me to see them together. Ali's seems so happy...I can't help but think what I did wrong. But at least I got Leah with me now. I turn to look at her and see that she's looking Daniel and Ali so intently.

"What's wrong?" I curiously ask her.

"That's my ex." She says pointing towards Daniel.

"No way..." I say. Oh shit! I can't believe that we were dating each other's exes. Wait, she doesn't know yet.

"That's also my ex." I say. She turns to me in shock.

"No way." She says.

Ali's POV
Monday

I decided to drive us to school today so I can control the radio stations. When we did go to school there was a pep rally, ugh I hate pep rallies. Anyways, that took up first and second period. Now I'm heading to World History, everyone's in this class, including Kendrick and Kaylee.

"Ok class let's get started!" Mrs. Gardener exclaimed.

You see the thing about this class is that Mrs. Gardener is too excited, I mean it's great that she loves to come to work and teach us something new everyday; but she's annoying.

"Okay okay, now today, we'll being doing partner work today." Mrs Gardener begins and everyone grunts at that.

"Gracelyn with Jacob, Barry with Connie, Glenn with Brayden, Ethan with Claire, Alisyn with Kendrick, Kaylee with Daniel..." She says slow and clear enough for everyone to understand. Ugh great.

Daniel look at me with concern and I nod at him assuring him I'm fine. Grace turns at me with worry and then I nod assuring her I'm fine as well.

"Okay class, now sit with your partner and get started." She said.

I casually walked over to Kendrick and plopped myself on the chair, Danny decided to sit behind us.

"Look I don't want to be your partner as much as you don't want me to be yours." He states.

Oh the nerve of him! I couldn't help but roll my eyes, and I very seldom do that. I turn my head to see Kaylee googly eyeing Danny.

I shake my head and turn back around and got started on the project.

We finished the project in time. I couldn't wait to get out of there! I quickly packed my things and when I turned around Kendrick was in front of me. I turn around to see that Danny wasn't paying attention. I turn back around to see Kendrick still standing there.

"Yes?" I ask.

"Look, Ali I see you've found someone new and I wanted to wish you the best." He says.

What the hell?

"Ali let's go." Danny says packing the rest of his things, I'm guessing he doesn't hear what's going on. I look at the table where Kendick and I were at and saw that I left my pen so I went back over to get it, with Kendick following behind me.

"What now?" I ask in an annoyed tone.

"Alisyn I learned from my mistakes from you and I'm with some one new, but I will always love you." Kendick says and it would be an understatement to say I was surprised.

Danny on the other hand, looks like he's about to jump across the table and throw punches. So I took that as my cue to go.

"Look Kendrick, it's over between us-" I got cut off.

"She doesn't want to be with you, you blew it. So now if you could excuse us." Danny says grabbing my hand and leading out the door. He made sure to give Kendrick the death place as we were walking past him.

"Danny.." I start to say.

"Nah, that bitch ass pisses me off. No one that truly loves a person would cheat on them." He said as we walked out the school heading towards my car.

"But it's not all his fault." I say and Danny stops before we can reach the parking lot.

"Why?" He said and his eyes looking intently at me.

"I never liked Kendrick when he took an interest in me. I was into dark mysterious bad boys, like you. But the time I actually started to catch feelings for Ken, he blew it by sleeping with Kay and not telling me about my grandma." I explain.

"Well he had time to get his shit together."

"True."

"So you think I'm a dark mysterious bad boy, eh?" He asked smirking.

"Yes, that who I like." I explained

"You're so bad Ali." He said laughing to himself.

I heard the carnival was opening today, so Danny and I decided to check it out. The carnival was huge, more like amusement park. I wasn't too surprised to find Kendrick her with another girl.

Danny was looking at the girl intently which kept me wondering.

"Hey what's wrong?" I ask looking back at her.

"That's my ex." He simply said.

"Oh wow." I replied in shock. I can't believe we're dating each other's exes.

They decided to come our way. Oh shit

"Hey Daniel." The blonde said. Wow, I guess I'm the only that gets the privilege to call him Danny.

"Leah." He simply said.

"I'm guessing this is your girlfriend, hi I'm Leah." She said holding her hand out to shake, but Danny stopped it before it could happen.

"I guess we're dating each other's exes." Kendrick spoke.

"Yeah I guess." I said. I wasn't happy about that.

"Look me and Ken have to go, but catch you guys later." Leah said and I roll my eyes to that. Then her and Ken left Danny and I alone by cotton candy machine.

"Why didn't you tell me about Leah?" I ask with a straight face.

Guilt is marked on his forehead.

"I don't know.."

"I thought we were being honest with each other, but I guess not."

"We are, Ali I'm sorry."

"It's cool lets go home."
