Chapter 19 - I'm late

Ali's POV
Monday

It feels like it's been forever since I been at school! I'm not excited about that. Today, I'm wearing a grey maxi skirt and black top, with some grey flats. My hair is straight today.

I go down stairs to see my mom at the breakfast table.

"Hey mom, where's dad?" I ask sitting down and taking two pancakes and pouring syrup on them.

"Oh, he had a meeting." She smiles.

"Mhm." I say while eating a piece of a pancake.

"So, your father and I are leaving for a week." She says and smiles widely.

"Mom, weren't you guys off for two weeks?" I ask arching an eyebrow.

"Yeah but it's our anniversary on Thursday! We decided to leave tonight, you know spend alone time with each other." She says and I almost choke on the last part.

"Ew, okay mom well I have to go." I say as I got up to my book bag on.

"Okay bye honey I love you."

"Love you too" I say and left my house.

I drove myself to school because Danny woke up late. I offered to pick up Grace but she said she was having "problems". Typical Grace. I haven't seen her in days so I hope everything's okay. Plus, I plan on spending a lot of time with her. I really don't want her to feel neglected.

I pull up to school and I saw Kaylee run inside crying. Ugh. She probably got rejected. Anyways, I head to the second floor where my locker was and spot Grace.

"Hey Gracie!" I say with a big smile on my face and hug her.

"Hey, what's up Ali?" She asked.

"Nothing, but my parents are leaving this week spending 'alone' time with each other. It's their anniversary."

"Yuck." She laughs and I laugh too.

"So what was this "problem" you had to take care of?" I ask getting the point of why I wanted to find her.

"I-I'm l-late." She stutters with her words.

"What!" I yell too loud. Now everybody's looking at me.

Grace pulls my arm and leads me to the bathroom, checks under the stalls to see if anyone was in there.

"What the do you mean 'I'm late'? I whisper/yell.

"I slept with Mathew before New Years.." She trailed off.

"Are you kidding me?" I yell.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I interjected.

"You were too busy with Danny, so I kept it to myself.." She said looking at her shoes. Damn, I wish she would've told me this.

I sighed. "Look, you can take a pregnancy test when go to my house."

"What are you going to do with it afterwards?" She asks.

"Throw it in the outside trash can." I shrugged, my parents would kill me if they saw one of those in the trash can.

"Oh okay.." Her eyes are filled with amusement.

Later that day..
Ali's house

Grace took about three tests and it all came out negative. We suspected that she's just a little late that's all. I had to cuss her out about letting herself go that easily. The last we need to do worry about another Kaylee.

Speaking of Kaylee, she was crying because someone was bothering her or some shit like that. She needs to be in chains honestly. Plus, I barely spoke to Danny today. It's cool though, I think Grace and I need a little bit of girl time anyways.
