Illidan's POV
Two months had passed and Illidan was still drowning in work. Schedules and guard changes, plotting entry routes and emergency escape routes. But he had it all figured out finally, they would just have to enter through the back. His Illidari were light on their feet, they could descend from the tree and shut the portal down. Kai entered the tent from another sparring session with both Allari and Saria and Illidan noticed she was holding her side.
"Spare a little too rough?" Illidan asked and Kai nodded.
"We switched to fel blades a few weeks again. Allari got me with her glaive." Kai lifted up her hand and Illidan could see the space inbetween her flesh. "She got me a lot worse than i thought. Plus now that the adrenaline is running off it hurts like a bitch."
"Well if your cursing then it must hurt." Illidan said worriedly getting up and crouching besides her. He ran his fingers over the wound and he sighed. "You said Allari did this?"
"Yes but don't get mad, she was only helping me train." Kai said and Illidan nodded.
"Let me sow your skin back up." Illidan said taking the sewing kit out from his desk. He pulled out a needle and some thread and started to stitch her skin together. She whined but Illidan kept sowing.
"You need to go to the medic, your body is being poisoned by fel."Illidan said looking at her black veins.
"Ah well about that, I'm the only one who can purge fel from the bodies of your Illidari. But it doesn't work as fast for me, I'll survive I just need some time." Kai said groaning as Illidan finished up the stitches.
"I'm sorry, I know stitches hurt I've had quite a lot over the years." Illidan said ignoring the fact he had quite a lot of scars on his body.
"So have I, though none my wounds have been infected with fel." Kai said and Illidan nodded.
"Well we're going to strike against the demons tomorrow night, using the ceiling of darkness." Illidan said and Kai nodded sleepily. It was amazing that she could fall asleep in the middle of the day.
"Then we'll wipe them out tomorrow." Kai said washing her wounds and leaning back. Illidan smiled and sat besides her. His wings were pressed against her skin and he could see her eyeing them curiously.
"Can I touch them?" She asked looking at the purple wings.
"Go ahead but be careful." Illidan said flexing his wings so she could feel then. Her fingers brushed against his wings and he shuttered.
"Should I stop?" Kai asked stopping her fingers and Illidan shook his head 'no'. Her hands continued to stroke his wings and he watched as Kai smiled happily.
"It feels like a bat wing." Kai said with a smile and she continued to stroke his wings. Illidan couldn't stop himself from loving the joy she got out of stroking his wings.
"I haven't noticed, though they do work exactly like a bat's wing." Illidan said and Kai nodded watching him flex his wings.
"They're beautiful." She said sweetly and Illidan turned his head with a blush.
"If you became an Illidari you could have wings too." Illidan said and Kai shook her head 'no'.
"If I became an Illidari I would lost contact with nature. I would much rather stand with you and heal your people."
"Our people." Illidan said before he could stop himself. Though the rose blush that spread on Kai's face was so worth the slip.
"Does the cook have any spare food from breakfast?" Kai asked and Illidan shrugged.
