Illidan's POV
Kai had practically begged him to let her out of Fel Hammer. Just like him she ached for the thrill of the fight. "Please Illidan, please just let me out to Azsuna or anywhere! I need to hunt something!"
"Kai your pregnant I don't want you getting hurt or endangering the baby in any way." Illidan said and Kai sighed. Bucky chirped in a way of agreement with Kai and Illidan frowned.
"Please you can hunt but I just want out, open forests real woods." Kai begged and Illidan sighed.
"Fine! But Allari and Saria are accompanying us." Illidan said and she jumped up and hugged him, which was kind of difficult considering her belly.
"Thank you thank you!" she said happily grabbing her Warblade and whistling for Merlin and Fel. "Bucky heel."
Illidan took her to Allari and Saria's room and he knocked. Saria opened the door and smiled. "Lord Illidan, how may we be of service."
"Kai has begged me to allow her to come on a hunt with her. I allowed it only if you two accompany us." Illidan said and Saria nodded happily.
"Of course, give me a few minutes let me untie Allari." Saria said with a smirk closing the door. Illidan and Kai waited and Allari and Saria walked out with a shy smile.
"Sorry." Allari said holding onto Saria and the four of them went to the portal room and Kai happily went through the portal to Azsuna. Illidan was the last one through and Kai took a breath of the fresh air.
"Are you going to come with us when you hunt or are you going to enjoy nature?" Saria asked and Kai smiled.
"I'll be here to help but thanks to our little one I can't hunt." Kai said and Illidan rested a hand her stomach. "Though when they pop out it will be worth it."
"You can ride on my back if you wish, you can be with us as we hunt." Illidan said crouching down and Kai climbed on top of him wrapping her arms around his neck. It was awkward because of her baby bump but she made it work somehow, Keyleth was resourceful like that. Illidan took his glaives and led them to the darkest parts of the forest.
"Here look I found cat prints." Saria said pointing out the prints and Illidan pointed to the direction they were going. Kai poked her head over his shoulder and he shifted her weight upwards so she could see too.
"Quite, these Panthers are known for their stealth." Illidan said tucking his wings against his back and moving carefully so no branches snapped. Saria and Allari we're careful as they flanked behind Illidan who followed the prints closely.
"Leave me here, i know you'll worry." Kai whispered against his ear and he smiled.
"Thank you love." Illidan said letting her slip off of his back. He gently kissed her lips and continued on with the hunt. Illidan could see the cat's red outline behind a tree and he pounced on the cat. His blades cut into the flesh and he turned around to see Kai's happy face.
"How about we set up a fire and we have dinner." Allari suggested and Kai nodded happily.
"I'll take you to a clearing." Kai said directing them to less trodden path and Illidan carried the cat carcass. Like Kai said there was a huge open clearing and plenty of dry brush to create a fire. Illidan set the cats body down and gathered some brush as Allari started to skin the panther and Saria built a makeshift stand to hold the meat.
Illidan set the branches down beneath the cat which was skewered on the stick. Kai managed to light the fire and the smell of food filled the air. The four of them were enjoying pleasant conversation as Kai suddenly grabbed her stomach and cried out in pain.
