Alec Giles found himself sitting in the principals office for what felt like the hundredth time that week. If there was one thing he absolutely hated, it was school. It wasn't the teachers. It wasn't the work. No, it was the pain in the ass of getting up in the morning. Maybe he wouldn't mind so much if he actually went to bed at a decent time but most nights that wasn't his fault.

For instance, last night Rupert Giles or as he calls him Uncle Giles. When he could first pronounce the name he said that calling him Uncle Rupert made the man sound old. So he decided that calling him Uncle Giles was a better name. Along with everyone else calling Rupert by his last name and he didn't seem to mind.

Anyway, back to last night, Giles had kept Alec up as he was being prepared for when the slayer came to town. Which happened to be the next morning. So like any good nephew Alec stayed up listening to his Uncle ramble on about the new girl.

He did dose off on the couch more times then he expected but was woken up by his uncle either yelling for him to wake up or getting one of the old musty books thrown at him.

To make the matters worse, his already self deprived body was sitting in front of Principal Fluty. He was barely listening to the lecture he was receiving and instead was trying to tell his body to stay awake. Imagine if he fell asleep while the Principal was talking to him, that would result in another suspension.

About twenty minutes later Alec walked out of the Office with Fluty following close behind him. He was lucky that Fluty didn't notice when he had dozed off for a second. He gave himself a pat on the back for being so slick about it. He was going to walk out when Fluty's voice stopped him. He internally rolled his eyes and turned to the Principal. It's not like he hated him. He was actually one of the best principals he had but right now all Alec wanted to do was get to class and hide in the back with his head on the desk.

"Now, Mr Giles, I hope this doesn't happen again. I wouldn't want to have to suspend you again."

Alec didn't even know what he had done wrong. Fluty probably told him some time during the lecture but it's not like he was actually paying attention. He just decided to go with it. "Don't worry Principal Fluty. I won't do... that again." Fluty didn't notice the lack of conviction in the teenager voice and instead smiled at him.

"That's a good man."

Alec nodded his head and sighed happily. He was finally going to get the hell out of the office. He was almost to the door but he felt eyes burning into the back of his head. Knowing it wasn't Fluty he turned his head and caught the eyes of a blonde.

She quickly faced the ground when she noticed she was caught staring. Alec smirked when he saw the blush that had covered her cheeks. The redness making the girl look even more pretty. He had to admit this girl was beautiful. He was used to girls blushing over him. He just had that affect over them.
