The Funeral

Liv tossed and turned that night. She remembers Jax strictly ordering Eddie other wise known as Half Sack to stay awake with his eyes wide open but as she went to grab a bowl of cereal she saw him laid in a pool of his own drool. She giggled lightly and wrapped a blanket around him.

Jax had called her to tell her not to wait up. She had tried not to think about Donna and her family. Liv even tried not to think about hers. She did her best to keep her stress levels down for her baby but it seemed impossible knowing she would have to wake up in a few hours to attend her best friend's funeral.

She stepped into her son's bedroom. Eddie had already begun painting it blue. She decided she'd try to finish up. She put a face mask on and tied her hair.

Donna had called Liv as soon as she made it to Los Angeles for her sophomore year "It's already a mess over here without you."

Liv could hear Ellie's cries in the background. "I'm  sure it's not that bad."

"Oh! You should have seen his face when you walked in! Can't believe you were here for just three days." Donna sighed.

"Yeah, I think I'm gonna stay over here for the next few years. Just have Jacob come down and visit me instead." Liv had invited Donna and Opie over for dinner. Jacob was grilling as she made the salad. Opie and Jax were already riding around with SAMCRO by that time. She didn't expect Jax to stop by. She made Donna and Jacob swear to not let anyone know she'd be back.

"That might have been my fault...I let it slip to, Ope."  Donna admits. "As soon as you walked back from your room it was as if  he saw a ghost! Opie told me later that Jax thought he was messing with him when he mentioned you being back..."

"Well, I'm glad he got pranked." Liv rolled her eyes. "We got into it before he stormed off." As soon as Liv made eye contact with him she turned back into the room not expecting to see him either. She hid in her room to gather herself but he followed her there.

"What happened?" Donna egged on.

"He tried to kiss me. I pushed him off and yelled at him. Told me he'd be sleeping with other girls and then proposed." Liv says quietly.

"He wanted to hurt you, Olivia. He Got back to the clubhouse piss drunk later that night. Jacob basically put him to bed."

Liv stayed quiet letting her thoughts run through her mind.

"I'm here for you, you know that? Don't forget about me while you're out there." Liv could hear Donna's smile.

Liv woke up to Gemma gently patting her back.

"C'mon baby lets get dressed" Gemma helped her up and into the shower.

"Where's Jax? And Jacob?" Liv questioned.
"Getting ready at the clubhouse with Ope." Gemma lied. The truth was that Jax never made it back home after he stormed off to save the witness. Jacob though, was at the house helping Ope.

Liv nodded finding it weird that Jax hadn't called to let her know.

Jax woke up at the cemetery. A blanket wrapped around him. A nice homeless woman had wrapped it around him. He happily gave it back and thanked her. Jax lit a cigarette and heard the roar of motorcycles coming down the road. Donna's casket leading. He took a breath and waited for the priest to start talking before he went to bid farewell. He noticed Liv in a small off the shoulder black dress. Her bump showing. She looked beautiful and tired. He wanted so badly to console her but had to think before he got a foot closer. He could hear her voice saying "Brains before blood.". Jax noticed her look around probably wondering where he was.

Jax couldn't wait any longer. When Liv had finally spotted him she shed a tear. He gathered her and kissed her head. She then placed his kutte back on him. She had been holding onto it. He kissed her head again and grabbed her hand. Jax led her to the coffin. They both felt the eyes of the club following them. The two kissed the flowers they grabbed and let them fall onto Donna's coffin. Jax led Liv away from the funeral. She didn't question him and already knew where he'd be taking her.

They stood in front of Thomas' tombstone. She didn't know what was running through Jax' head but she knew that she had to stand right next to him. She held his hand tight. Minutes later they moved to J.T.'s.

Piney finds them not too long after. He nods at them both, "It's time for a change." Piney hands Jax a yellow envelope.

He squeezes Liv's shoulder and walks off. Jax gives Liv a confusing look. He pulls her and the bump in closer. He opens the envelope.

"John's manuscript." Liv voices.

Jax looks up at her "He's got one too."

Gemma and Clay watch them from afar.

"What's goin' on, Jax? I feel their eyes on us." Liv finally asks demanding an answer.

He stays quiet and runs his hand through her hair "I'm going to take care of it."

"Not on your own you're not." Liv tells him.

He sighs.

Liv walks away feeling overwhelmed. She goes to the only place that would make her feel at peace right now. Her parents' graves.

She sits down. Joseph and Violet Cayce. Liv feels someone come up behind her as she stares at the tombstones "Need a minute, Jax."

"Not Jax," Jacob sits at her side. "I didn't imagine it being like this when you came back."

Liv laughs "Me neither. Thought we'd be living together another couple years with Keanu at our every side. But I'm over here knocked up with the Vice President of SAMCRO's son and sitting next to my newly outlaw brother...And! Keanu is spending most of his time with Tiggy over there."

Jacob doesn't say anything. Liv feels the disappointment coming from Jacob and instantly regrets her words.

"I wouldn't change a thing, you know?" She puts her hand over Jake's.

He nods "Don't like to feel like I disappointed them."

Liv squeezes his hand "Alright, help me up. Time to drag out whatever it is Jax is going crazy over."

"I'd stay out of it, Olivia." Jacob tells her.

"You know something?" She questions.

Jacob shakes his head not trying to push it further.

"Jake, let's go!" Tig calls him. Her brother kisses her head and follows after.
