Secrets

  "Olive, come here!" Joseph Cayce shouted for his daughter who was planting some vegetables in her mother's garden.
"Yeah, dad?" She was thirteen then.
He pointed at the door with the knife "Get the door please, Gemma and Clay are here"
Liv happily made her way to greet Gemma and Clay. She wondered if Piney would be stopping by too.
"Jake with Jax and Ope?" Liv asked her father.
"Yeah, doesn't mean you can't hang with us though" he playfully knocked her chin.

She rolled her eyes and went over to her mother who was still in the room doing God knows what.

"Looking through old pictures?" Liv asked her.

Her mother jumped "You scared me!" she chuckled "Look."

Violet handed her daughter a picture. It was of her parents on their wedding day.

"You both look so young." Liv pointed out.

"We were hot" Her mother teased. Liv rolled her eyes again.
"You guys were all so close then too" Next to her parents were Gemma and J.T.
"Sometimes I wonder how much different it would have been if we had gotten out of Charming when I was pregnant with Jacob..." Her mother says but mostly to herself.
Violet shakes her head at the thought and grabs Liv's hand to kiss it "Look, your grandpa Abel"
"What does that name mean?" Liv asked curiously.
"I think it means 'breath'" Violet looked at her "Something we all gotta remember to do...take a breath"

"Liv, wake up, sweetheart" Unser's voice burned through her skull. Liv awoke with a headache that could kill.

She sat up noticing she was in the back of a cop car. She looked down at her legs and felt no blood. Liv rubbed her belly.

She looked up to see Unser and Gemma sitting in the front seat. A blanket wrapped around her.

"Gemma, are you alright?" Liv grabbed her arm.

"I'm fine, baby" She patted her hand.

"I'm so sorry" Liv spoke. Gemma waved her hand.

"How did you find us?" Liv asked. "And why I haven't we gone yet?"

"I got an anonymous tip" Unser answered "You sure you don't want me to call Clay, Jax, Jacob?"

"No!" Gemma said before Liv could speak up.

"It would ruin them..." Gemma said.

"I don't understand" Liv panicked.

"They did this to us so we could go running to them. We can't say anything.."

"But they could fix this, Gemma!"

"This wasn't about us...what those animals did. It was to hurt Clay and Jax. Anyone, find out, they win. We can't let that happen." Gemma looked Liv in the eye.

Olivia knew she had to have her back on this. Gemma took care of her and the baby in there.

"Okay..." Liv sighed.

"I just know I gotta take you both somewhere" Unser spoke up. "I gotta make sure the baby is okay, Gem. To make sure you're okay.."  he looked at her longingly.

Liv nodded and took a swig of water that she found next to her "Hand me your phone"

"Who you calling?" Asked Gemma.

Unser took the women to Liv's old house.

"Ryan, thank you for coming." Liv hugged the man. He carried his medical bag.
Ryan had become a surgeon at St. Thomas hospital. He had filled her in the last time they had lunch together. She called him knowing she could trust him.

"Liv, are you okay?"

"Can you please just check on us please?" Liv asked desperately.

"Us?" His eyes widened at the look of Gemma. Unser helped her step out of the car and into the house.

Jacob still hadn't sold it to anyone yet.

Ryan nodded.

"Alright, look to the left." Ryan held a mini flashlight to her eyes.

"The baby seems to be fine but you're concussed, Liv. I can't treat you or Gemma here, we need to really find out what's going on." Ryan looked at the both of them. He noticed how defeated they both looked.

Olivia felt a kick in her belly. She felt relieved and trusted this was a good sign that her baby was okay. Her head? Maybe not so much. She rubbed it again and wondered how she was going to keep all of this from Jax. Liv stopped thinking though. Her head was still pounding and her wrists were aching.

"Look, we'd have to check in. The insurance and shit." Gemma says.

"I can say we're checking on the baby. Say Liv asked for me personally....congratulations by the way." Ryan gave Olivia a little grin.

She thanked him awkwardly. This is not what she imagined  them two would be doing when she was younger.

Liv thought of the trouble Jax would have dealing with the new doctor checking on his old lady but he would have to deal with it.

"You could get fired for that" Gemma said what Liv was thinking.

"I'll figure it out"

"Are you sure?" Liv asked.

Ryan nods without question.

"How do we know you're not bullshitting? Your brother has been pissin on our front yard since he's become deputy..." Gemma starts.

"Gem, we can trust him." Liv eyes her.

"I'm not my brother." Ryan defends himself "Plus, I'm not just hanging here for shits and giggles."

This catches Liv off guard. Ryan was never one to speak in that way.

Gemma begins again "You can't tell anyone"

"I won't say anything" Ryan promises.

"They'll see your faces!" Unser who had been awfully quiet interjects. "You know what, stay with them alright?"
He looks at Ryan.

"Where you goin'?" Gemma almost stood but crouched back down.

Unser walked out the door.

"Let's get you guys to the hospital" Ryan helped them each individually back into the car.
