"IT TAKES GRACE TO REMAIN KIND IN CRUEL SITUATIONS!"

mackenzie got up at 5, jogging 2 miles before heading into the shower. she was now 6 months along, well 6 and a half. she took a shower, then dried her hair and curled it. she did her skincare routine after brushing her teeth, then put on some makeup. she put on her clothes, then her shoes.

she put on a shirt and a pair of maternity leggings. she wore her doc martens, then put on a jacket. she grabbed her backpack and laptop, and headed downstairs. "where are you going?" melissa asked.

"study group." kenzie said.

"it's been two weeks. i thought you stopped hanging out with them besides therapy." greg said, sipping his coffee.

"no, just tired." mackenzie lied, then headed out.

"mackenzie!" emily said, supposed. "you're here?"

"yeah. i'm supposed to be." mackenzie said, then emily turned around, seeing a guy about to sit in their spot.

"move it chump! that's our spot! you see the backpacks? or are you a pedofile? MOVE!" emily yelled, making him run away. "anyway, john and annie are running late." she said in answer voice

"don't you live with johnny?" mackenzie asked.

"yeah, he just went to visit his sister the town over last night. he slept over there." mackenzie nodded, then ordered her usual. "oh and thanks for the clothes. my mom gave me a box of old baby clothes and all except two were boys' clothing." mackenzie fell silent, "anyway, how's your nursery so far?"

"well we just turned my room into the nursery. since the first few months the twins will be with me anyway." mackenzie said, then it got awkward. annie, mackenzie, and emily barley knew each other when this all started, so they didn't know each other that well.

"i'm here." annie greeted as she came into the cafe. she was wearing an over sized grey shirt and vans. "and also, tired." annie said, dropping into the chair.

"we should get started on our history." emily said, then mackenzie looked at annie, who was eating a snickers. "what?"

mackenzie looked at her awkwardly, "i kind of finished my history, math, and science for the rest of the week. and next weeks, and the week after." mackenzie said.

emily looked at annie, "you too?"

"well, i stopped by her house last night and we did history and math while watching scandal." annie said, making emily sigh.
