mackenzie grabbed her history book and placed it into her backpack—then looked in the mirror and applied her lip balm. "sup." hayden said, just as mackenzie shut her locker. "wanna hang out today?"
mackenzie smiled, putting her lip balm in her pocket. "sure, but i have to bring the twins."
"that's fine. i know maddie is in san diego." hayden said, then held mackenzie's pe bag for her, while she tied her shoes. "anyway, let's go to the mall-"
"no!" mackenzie stopped him, "last time we went with you, you bought them designer shoes. again."
"fine. park?" hayden suggested.
"how about we try the beach? it'll be the twins' first time." mackenzie asked, getting up.
"sure. it's pretty nice today." hayden said, then they both got into his car and drove to mackenzie's house.
stepping out, hayden locked his car, then mackenzie unlocked her front door. stepping in, she saw melissa baking cookies and yen house much cleaner than this morning. "hey guys!" melissa greeted, putting her red oven mitt on the counter. "i'm making cookies."
"we're gonna go to the beach mom." mackenzie said, taking off her shoes.
"are you bringing the twins?" melissa asked.
"yeah, anyway. we're gonna go get them ready." the teens ran up the stairs, then quietly opened mackenzie's door, seeing the twins were asleep.
mackenzie gently woke them up, and fed them. hayden helped clean up her room while she fed them. "ok, here are your cloths." hayden said, handing mackenzie two burping cloths, then picked up ivana, and burped her for mackenzie.
"shit, you're hot." mackenzie smiles, blushing, then leaned in, and kissed him.
"no kissing in front of the babies." he whispered, then kissed her cheek, and walked away, to the opposite side of the room to burp ivana. they started 'going out' about a month ago, the twins are now 4 months.
"it's no conoodling, kissing is fine." eventually, they finished getting the twins ready. hayden grabbed the last few things as mackenzie packed their dinner, and snacks.
he put in pb&j sandwiches, of course, then some fruit, the cookies melissa made, and a few drinks. she lastly put in a cooler and placed the babies' milk inside. "ok, they're ready." hayden came down the stairs. the diaper bag on his shoulder as he carried down the twins in their car seats.
"me too." they put the babies in mackenzie's car, then got in the front, and drove off. once they got there, hayden set up the tent, which was white and had tied back drapes, so they could see the ocean view while still being shaded.
once he finished, mackenzie put the twins in their baskets, which had a mattress and a blanket. mackenzie helped hayden with the large picnic blanket. she set up their food, then they got comfortable. the babies were inside the tent, so hayden and kenzie sat just at the bottom. where they were still inside the tent but their feet and food weren't.
hayden took out two glasses, then grabbed some ice from the cooler and then poured him and kenzie some punch, his recipe with no alcohol.
the sun started to set as they watched. "this is beautiful." mackenzie smiled, gazing at the sunset.
"not as beautiful as you." hayden said, chessily.
"oh shut it. flattery isn't going to get you anywhere." hayden pouted, making mackenzie smile, "ok, maybe a kiss." they kissed, then kissed, and kissed.
ivana started crying, before anything got too heated. "saved by the cry." hayden joked, then mackenzie went back, taking out ivana. she fed her, while hayden took out jordan, and played with him a bit.
