Chapter 17

'Warm... soft and warm' Ukyo thought as he held his pillow tighter, nuzzling into it. 'I don't remember my pillow ever being like this before' he thought. He slowly opened his eyes and saw that he was not nuzzling his pillow. Instead he was nuzzled onto Ryuko's chest, one of his hands atop her breast. Once he got over the initial shock of his head and hands, he noticed the rest of his body. He was practically buried between Ryuko's legs. He slowly got up as not to disturb her and went outside his room. 'How could this have happened? She played for me, and then we talked and... then we must have fallen asleep' he thought. 'I don't remember anything else after we talked' he thought. Ukyo went downstairs and into the kitchen to see that most of his brothers were already downstairs. Zerin and Ema in their aprons, breakfast already made. 

"Good morning Ukyo, Ema and I have breakfast covered so just sit down and eat. We set a place for you already" Zerin said and placed a rice omelette on the table. 

"Well thank you both" Ukyo said and began to eat. 

"Ema take this to Ryuko, she has to go to Sonica today" Zerin said and gave Ema a mug. Ukyo nearly choked. 

"Ukyo are you alright?" Azusa asked. 

"Actually Ema why don't I give it to her" he said getting up. 

"No it's fine, you just came down" Ema said.

"Yeah, sit and eat" Zerin said. 

"No it's quite alright, I need to ask her something" Ukyo said. 

"You can talk to her when she comes down" Zerin reasoned. 

"Zerin's got a point, sit down and eat" Tsubaki said. Ukyo turned to talk to Ema only to find that she was gone. 'Ema will know Ryuko's not in her room' he thought. 

"I seem to have forgotten something in my room, I'll be right back" Ukyo said as he got up. 

"But you haven't finished eating" Zerin said as she watched him leave the dining room and go up the stairs. 'Wonder what's got him so flustered' she thought. Ukyo made his way into his room to see that Ryuko was still asleep on his bed. 'Better wake her up' he thought. 

"Ryuko, it's time to wake up" he spoke softly into her ear, lightly touching her arm. Her eyelids fluttered open slowly. 

"Good morning Ukyo" she said, rubbing her eyes. 

"Good morning" he said. 

"I guess we both dozed off last night" she said getting. 

"I suppose we did" Ukyo said. 

"Truth be told that's what usually happens when I bring out the big guns" she said. 

"When has that happened?" Ukyo asked. 

"It's happened a few times, mostly with Zerin and Ema. Sometimes it was with my ex-boyfriend Chika" Ryuko said. 

"An ex?" he said. 

"Yes, we dated all throughout college but life had different plans for us" she said. 

"What happened if you don't mind me asking?" he asked. 

"Well we both loved music, but I was in the background, song-writing and playing bass. He however was always on the main stage, basking in the spotlight. He was offered a position in a band as the lead vocalist. I urged him to take it even though I knew what it meant for us" she said. 

"I had an ex-girlfriend once upon a time. She was a lawyer like me, a beautiful one at that, but eventually her true colors began to show and I ended it. She loved me for what I am, not for who I am. Not to mention that she was quite the demanding and spoiled person. Hikaru and Azusa deeply expressed their disapproval of her too. I think they were happy when I told them I ended things with her" he said.
