Chapter 18

'Today's the day... my first game' Zerin thought as she got up from bed. She did her stretches and made her way down to the kitchen, making her smoothie. She looked at the family board and moved her piece to say she was out. 'Coach said to be there in the afternoon' she thought as she went on her motorcycle. 'Gives me plenty of time to do what I need to do' she thought. 

"Hey, Haru. I'm back. I just wanted to tell you that I have my first game with the Tokyo Blue Hearts today. I swear I am going to play my best. First games are important" she said as she stood before his headstone. 

"Wish me luck" she said and touched the headstone, hard and rough under her fingers. 

"I love you, Haru" she said before leaving. 

Coming back home she didn't go inside, instead she went on her morning run. 'First game's today. Nothing like a good run to get the blood pumping' she thought so she headed to the park. 'Kind of cold outside but it's fine' she thought. After her run she went back home. 'Game starts at 4 pm, so I should leave after lunch' she thought. 

"Good morning, Zerin. Ready for today?" Ema asked. 

"Not yet but I will be. I thought I'd go meditate, do some yoga and then leave after lunch" she said. 

"Did I hear meditate?" Kaname said, coming from behind them. 

"I did, do you want to join me?" Zerin asked. 

"I will, let me get set up and then I'll come and get you" he said.

"Sounds good to me" she said. 

"Perfect" he said with a smirk and walked away. 

"Anyway, I gave Ryuko the passes for the season so if you want to get yours she has them" Zerin said. 

"Alright, I'll let our brothers know that too. What time does your game start?" Ema said. 

"4 o'clock" Zerin said. 

"Good, with any luck we'll be back home at around 7. Since this is your first game I'll be sure to have some takoyaki for you" Ema said. Zerin's eyes lit up and she hugged Ema. 

"You are the best little sister ever" she exclaimed. 

"Thanks" Ema said. 

"Well I should let you go, you have a study date don't you?" Zerin asked releasing her. 

"Yes, college prep hasn't been easy but I will pull through" she said. 

"Such a little cutie" Zerin said and ruffled Ema's hair. 

"I should be back before your game" Ema said. 

"Alright, bye" Zerin said. She went to get a drink of water when she was met with Azusa. 

"Big game today" he said. 

"The first game is always big. I can't wait for all of you to see my moves on the court. It will be fantastic" she said and jumped in the air, surprising Azusa. 

"You're quite the jumper" he said noticing how high she got. 

"Thanks" she said as she rubbed the back of her head. 

"Oh, Zerin. I'm ready for you now" Kaname said. 

"Great, lead the way" she said. Kaname smirked and led Zerin to his meditation room. 

"Here we are. My little slice of heaven" he said. 

"Your own personal meditation room. Nice" she said and looked around the purple room with hanging scrolls decorating the walls.
