In this world, everyone had a soulmate that they would end up with. How did they figure out who their soulmate was? If two people that were soulmates looked at each other, they would instantly have feeling for each other, their pupils would turn to heart shapes, and a small, thin, red light would be between them. It would look as if a red string was connecting them, but it was a light instead. How was the light able to appear? It just did, and no one ever questioned it. There was only one day a year when soulmates could find each other, and that was valentines day, from afternoon to midnight. They also had to be at the age of 16+. Being any younger or trying any other day, nothing would happen. If their soulmate was younger than 16, they would have to wait until their soulmate was 16 for it to work since they both needed to be 16+.

It was finally valentines day! You had made some friend chocolates and was looking forward to seeing everyones excited faces when she passed them out at school. She knew she had finally reached the age where she could find a soulmate since she was in her second year of High school, so she wondered if she would find hers that day. "If I do, I hope it's someone really nice..." she whispered to herself. She put the chocolates inside her bag and ran to the bus stop so she wouldn't be late for school.

She got on the bus and sat in the back. The bus stopped again a few minutes later and Chika got on the bus and sat next to her. "Good morning!" Chika said and smiled. "Hey Chika-chan!" You replied and smiled. "Did you make chocolates?" Chika asked. You nodded "Yep! But I'm going to wait and hand them out at school." She said, then asked "Did you make chocolates too?".

"I sure did! I brought mikan slices dipped in chocolate!" Chika said. That didn't surprise You since she knew Chika loved mikans. The bus finally got to school, so they got out and walked to the school. Once they got passed the gates, they met up with the other members of Aqours. Everyone gave each other chocolates. "Oh, by the way, my chocolates have small gold flakes in them so careful when you eat them!" Mari warned everyone.

Dia sighed "Normal chocolate would have been fine."   She said. "It is normal chocolate, it's just got a little bit of gold in it." Mari replied. You put all the chocolates into her bag. "I wonder if anyone will find a soulmate this year." Mari said. "Maybe. It's rare to actually successfully find your soulmate though." Kanan said. You knew that a lot of people sadly ended up not being able to find their soul mate, so they just had to be with someone they slightly liked if they wanted to be in a relationship. She didn't want to end up like that, it just sounded sad to her.

She hoped that she would be able to find her soulmate, even if it took a few years. Or maybe if she was lucky, it would be someone she knew at the school and she wouldn't have to wait long at all. She wouldn't be able to tell until it was afternoon, so around lunch time. The bell to head to class rang so You walked to her class with Chika and Riko. They sat down at their seats and soon class started for the day.

During class, You secretly ate a few of the chocolates. She thought that everyone had done a really good job making chocolate. Even Chika's mikan slices covered in chocolate were good. Soon it was lunch time. Everyone was looking towards the clock in the classroom. It was at 11:58 am. Two minutes until 12:00 and it would finally be afternoon, the starting time for when they could find a soul mate that day. Even You, Riko, and Chika kept glancing at the clock.

11:59... "Only a few more seconds.." Riko said. The other two nodded. The hands were slowly turning as everyone watched with anticipation. 12:00.. everyone quickly looked around the room at each other. Some of them who didn't see anyone they were soul mates with left the classroom to check other classes. They all were hoping to find a soulmate that day. If soulmates weren't found at school, it was the one day of the year people were outside, walking around the most.

You glanced around the classroom, then she looked at Riko, then... at Chika. As soon as her eyes met with Chika's, she saw Chika's pupils turn to hearts. She suddenly felt her heart pounding when she looked at Chika and could imagine her pupils were heart shaped too. A small red light formed between them. Riko looked at both of them with a surprised expression at first, but then she smiled "Well, that sure was fast." She said.

You couldn't stop looking at Chika... had she always been so beautiful? She walked closer to Chika, and Chika walked closer to her. It almost felt like the red light was pulling them towards each other. "Ch-Chika-chan.." You said, but wasn't sure what else to say. She was really happy. Chika smiled and leaned her face close to You's "Can I kiss you, You-chan?" She asked. You nodded, still unable to think of what to say.

Chika leaned even closer and their lips met. It was a short and soft kiss, but You really liked it. It made her feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Her first kiss was with her soulmate, and her soulmate was Chika. You couldn't have been happier. She hugged Chika and felt Chika hug her back. "I'm going to go check the other classrooms, I'll see you two later." Riko said and left. She mainly wanted to to give them some time to theirselves.

"Hey, You-chan? Want to hang out at my house after school? I want us to both tell my parents about us being  soulmates and I want to spend more time with you!" Chika asked. "I would love that!" You agreed. She hugged Chika a little tighter, not wanting to let go. She didn't let go of Chika until the bell for lunch to end rang.
