66 - Hero

I hate that Madden forced me out of the house but she's awfully excited to surprise me with this dress in just two days so I do as I'm told. She's taking it as if it is our wedding and we are getting married; but we aren't getting married.

DJ decided we should go to the mall so that I can keep occupied yet the mall seems way too crowded and I already have a different idea in store. Knowing yesterday that we were not spending the day together, I called Josephine hoping she would fly out so I can try to stop this madness. I explain all this to DJ, he calls me out for lying to Madden, "That's a load! I'm just trying to end the problem." I'm to meet Josephine at her hotel room, which in hindsight is not the smartest idea but it needs to be in private plus DJ will be right outside.

I do need a coffee before I go to fight off this demon, so we make a stop at the drive through of Starbucks. The woman hands DJ an extra cup begging for me to sign it for her and I can't say no because we haven't gotten our drinks yet; I don't need her spitting in them. I sign the cup then she hands us our coffees. We make our way to Josephine's hotel; the whole way DJ is trying to convince me that I should tell Madden what I'm up to. In my head, I believe it's a good idea to keep this from her that way, if things go smoothly, she never has to know and I'm praying things go well.

I knock at room 410 as directed and she opens the door immediately. Josephine is only wearing a robe, and I've seen this trick before. She shuts the door behind me, and DJ waits outside. When I face her, I have to make my intentions clear; "If you remove your robe and you're naked, it's not happening." She doesn't respond, meaning I was right. I try to make this conversation quick. "What do you want Josephine?" "I want you obviously," she says nonchalantly, "...And Noah wants Madden." I'm thrown off by these words. Did she just say Noah? She couldn't have. "Excuse you?" "Noah wants Madden back." I heard her right the first time and I'm ready to flip the fuck out. "How the fuck do you know what Noah wants?!" I'm yelling now and I'm sure DJ can hear me; bloody hell the whole floor probably can. "I've been visiting him, and we've been trying to split you two up so that I can be with you and she can be with him." Is she unaware of how psychotic she sounds right now, "Are you mad?" I turn to see that there are small empty plastic bags on the bedside table; fucking Christ she's a junkie. She comes closer to me, placing her palms on my chest. What happened to my co-star, during the first movie, she was a ball of sunshine and it was annoying as hell, but she never acted this way. "It's always been you and me, Hero." I shake my head from side to side, "Never. You need some fucking help." I see her coming in for a kiss and this time, I push her away from me. I take my phone out and realize that Madden has texted me; she's gone out in public without me or a bodyguard. Now another problem I have to deal with.

Josephine steps closer to me again, after regaining her balance. She is so high that she can barely stand on her own two feet; I sit down on the chair and hoping she takes the hint; she manages to sit down on the bed. I call a facility hoping that they will come pick her up. Josephine needs help and I refuse to be the one to do it. The psycho went to visit my girlfriend's ex-boyfriend who happens to be a murderer and they plot to break us up. What kind of world is she even living in?

Half hour goes by while I wait in the small room where there is little space between us; for the rehab facility to show up. I haven't texted Madden back yet, hopefully she doesn't find me suspicious. Josephine tries to crawl over to me from the bed, but I stand from the chair, creating more distance between us. She keeps trying to move closer to me, which eventually with every step I take to move away from her, I end up pressed against the hotel door. It's now been an hour—what is taking so fucking long?

DJ knocks on the door and shouts from the other side, "Hero! We need to go now!" I look at my phone for the time, and Madden has called eight times and there are five texts:

We can't leave the restaurant.

They're looking for you and I don't know what to do.

Hero!! I need you!

Hero, where are you? Why aren't you answering?

How many times do I need to text you to come help me?

Fuck. I was distracted and I shouldn't have been. DJ was right, I should have told Madden.

I leave Josephine in the room; she calls after me as I run down the hall. The facility will be there sooner than later, and they will be able to manage her. DJ drives very fast in order to get to the restaurant that Mara said they were stuck at. As we turn onto the street, I can see many vans and too many people standing outside the restaurant. DJ parks the car and I pull at the car door, but DJ locks it on me. "You can't come out; things will get even more crowded." I want to fight DJ but I know he's right; I rest my back on the chair and watch as DJ pushes his way through the crowd. Less than 20 minutes goes by, now Madden, Mara and Vera sit in the back of the tinted SUV, on our way to my home.

Madden seems to be ignoring me. It is just her and I at home now, and she has locked the bathroom door when she's in the shower—she never locks the door. After her shower, she tucked herself into bed and did not say anything to me. I know she is mad at me but her being this quiet is very scary. I give her some space while I take my own shower and when I come back, she is sitting up on the bed, staring at me as if she's been waiting for me. I take her staring as an invite to sit in front of her; I throw on a pair of black boxers then take my seat in front of my girl.

Under this pressure, as her eyes pierce mine, I crack; "I was with Josephine at her hotel. I asked her to come to try and end her drama but when I got there, I noticed that she's been on crack..." I pause waiting for a reaction, but her straight face remains the same. "She visited Noah and she..." The reaction I've been waiting for finally comes out, her mouth drops as she shouts, "WHAT?" I explain to her that, in her loaded state, Josephine decided to go visit Noah in jail and between her boozed up mind and his psychotic mind, they tried to tear her and I apart in order for us to be with who they thought, was our rightful person. I believe that Madden kills this argument before it really starts in order for her to avoid the topic of Noah and we go ahead to sleep.
