68 - Hero

Madden takes my hand and clumsily steps from the limo. Her and this dress is absolutely breathtaking. I am in awe by how beautiful she looks in this moment. It was good she surprised me, and we came separately because if we didn't, we would not have made it out of the hotel room. Seeing her right now, all I can think about is how much I want to take her from behind and show her how badly I love her.

Madden shakes her head telling me she's ready to make her way down the red carpet, so I close the limo door and offer her my arm. She links her arm in mine, I kiss her on her forehead, and we take our steps down the aisle; like we will our wedding. The paparazzi and the coordinator's cameras are all on us. As the camera flashes, a few people I know have walked by us; Selena Gomez, the Weeknd, Kylie Jenner and we only get stopped by the Bieber's. Hailey kisses Madden's cheek as a greeting and Justin gives her a gentle hug as to not ruin the dress, "Your girlfriend is almost as stunning as my wife," Justin says to me. I am not at all jealous or have anger toward Justin for calling my girl stunning because it's the truth and if anyone says differently, then they are far from right. "I beg to differ," I shoot back at him. We engage in a conversation with them but are interrupted quickly by an interviewer from E!. Justin and Hailey move along the red carpet, while we entertain multiple interviews with people, all asking the same questions: Who are you wearing tonight? Have you seen so and so? Whose dress do you like the most... It isn't until we get to the Snap Chat interview that we are questioned about ourselves, "You two together are just adorable. How is it like dating a celebrity?" The brown-haired woman directs her question to Madden, "It's very different but I've loved every single minute with this man and would never change that." Hero shares a smile and kisses me on the cheek—ON LIVE TV. The woman gushes at his gesture and continues, "Hero, I have to say I believe that the two of you are the best dressed here tonight. I can't help but notice the rock on Madden's ring finger, what's that all about?" "Funny enough you're the first to ask. I proposed to Madden before coming here; meet my fiancé!" I take Madden's left hand and lift it to the camera and I notice her blushes as I show off what's now mine, forever. The woman is now overly excited as she speaks, "You've heard it here first! Hero Tomlin is engaged!"

After the Snap Chat interview, many people came up to us to congratulate us, and Tom Holland pulls me aside while Madden speaks with some other interview lady. "Congratulations brother," Tom says followed by a firm handshake. He continues to go on about how he is proud of the man I've become, knowing that he's seen me in my mess and is probably shocked by the engagement more than anything. While Tom continues to give me his full support, I look over to see that Madden has becomes star struck when Jake Gyllenhaal walks by her. I try to swiftly leave the conversation with Tom, "Talk later Tom." I walk over to Jake and bring him back towards Madden so I can introduce her to one of her favourite actors of all time, excluding myself and I have to say, coming to the MET is probably the best engagement gift for my girl. I thought that meeting Jake would truly be the most fan reaction I will see from her but it's not until she meets the Jonas Brothers when she truly goes all fan girly. If I was hand in hand with anyone else, I truly believe that the reaction of going mad for the Jonas Brother would bother me and I'd probably leave that person behind but with Madden, her reaction is absolutely adorable, and I laugh at her cuteness. Sophie Turner hangs off Joe Jonas as Madden does me, "She is adorable. You two need to come by soon. We could have a BBQ." Sophie and I have known each other for a very long, I met her when I auditioned for Game of Thrones for the part of Bran and I've always found her quite friendly. I didn't get the part of Bran because I was too handsome which doesn't bother me at all, but it must bother the guy who plays Bran and I find joy in that. Sophie could potentially be a great friend for Madden, but I will let Madden decide who her friends on from now on because I was very wrong about Josephine. Nick and Priyanka Jonas are very friendly to Madden, but they are the IT couple right now because of their diversity and people are all over them, so they are distracted by plenty of people throwing questions at them. Unfortunately, Kevin Jonas could not make it because one of his daughters is sick, but Sophie promises that all the brothers will come to the BBQ she now plans on hosting for us.

When we get to the stairs, the photographers are asking for photos of just myself on the steps. I can't say no because I did come to this thing and the gala is all about the celebrity photos; I quickly stand there awkwardly and then wave at Madden to come and join me before I go mad. Madden joins me on the step, her dress falls like a waterfall down two steps and a woman comes to adjust the back of her dress while we pose together for a few shots. The woman who adjusted her dress now asks me to step out of the picture so they can get a shot of just Madden, and I'm not taken aback by the fact that they want to forever remember the beauty that is Madden but it surprises me that this world accepts her now. As I watch my girl standing on the steps, at the fucking MET gala; my future wife, I am in my head reminiscing of the day when I ran into her at Costco. It amazes me that a clumsy act by me turned into this amazing moment with my fiancé.

There is a pain on the side of my stomach, like I'd just been hit with something. There are screams fading out my thoughts. I'm brought back to reality when Madden is holding me in her arms as I lay on the red carpet and tears flood her eyes. I'm so fucking tired.
