"What?" He breathed out, shoulders dropping and smile diminishing from his face as he looked down into her teary eyes.
She panicked, clutching onto his hand with both of hers- scared of the sudden darkness she faced and she began to panic.
"I-i can't see, I can't see anything- it's all dark, why can't i see?" She blurted out in a frenzy, breaths quickening and her heart monitor began to beep rapidly.
Jeno's mouth parted in shock, momentarily shocked but when her painful- whining cry left her lips it made his own heart break.
"I can't see." She took her hands from Jeno's and began to rub her eyes but he caught her hands. "Rosa," he began softly, swallowing the lump in his throat while he looked at the panicked Nurse and Doctors.
She wasn't listening, he could tell by the way her eyes trailed over the room in hopes of her vision to come back.
His warm hand over hers made her stop and she looked to the right of her, the direction he was in.
"I can't see anything, I'm scared Hyeon." She whispered, closing her eyes- biting back the tears.
He frowned, his other hand reaching out out to brush the hair out of her face, making her flinch but instead he dropped his hand to her cheek, brushing the fallen tear.
"It's okay, you're okay Heejin- are you listening?" He murmured clearly and she muffled out a small yes. "I'm here, don't be scared okay, you'll be fine baby."
Something inside her melted, her panic dissolving and instead she layed there, feeling his thumb gently habitually brush past her cheekbone.

"Can we speak to you outside-" "No, say it in front of me." Heejin cut the nurse off and the Nurse hesitated before walking over to the bed.
"The rest results are back..." She began. "You suffered from head trauma and it resulted in the loss of your vision."
"However, in cases like this the patient can slowly gain their vision back but it could take between 1 week and 1 year...you must know that not everyone recovered and some lead to complete blindness."

She was silent, she hadn't talked, ate or anything.
Jeno was becoming fearful, fidgeting in his chair as he watched her as she had her eyes closed, fists clenched by her side.
"I should have just died."
His head snapped up when she said it and he immediately straightened up. "Don't say that-" "It's true, I can't fucking see Jeno- it's useless, I'm useless-"
"Heejin listen to me." He said sternly, sitting by her legs and looking at her as she sat up with the support of the bed.
"You're not useless and you certainly don't deserve to fucking die. You might regain your sight-" "And what if I don't?" She snapped.
Jeno paused, taking in the sight of her on the verge of breaking down and he moved closer to her. "We'll cross that bridge when it comes to it Rosa, you need to focus on getting better." He said softly, placing his hand next to hers on the bed so it brushed against hers- letting her know he was there without shocking her.
She was silent, feeling his hand trail up to her shoulder to her head where he gently pushed it down to his good shoulder, his arm around her.
"You'll be okay, I'll be here." "You promise?" She whispered out, clutching the material of his shirt in the darkness of her world.
"I promise."
