"Kahel! Come back here!" Kuya Ruben shouted while chasing me.

I laughed. Lumiko ako sa guest room at mabilis iyung sinarado. Napahagikhik ako nang marinig ko ang sigaw ni Kuya Ruben papalayo.

Kuya Ruben is my doctor. Lagi ko siyang tinatakasan kapag oras na para kumain ako.

Lumingon ako sa guest room na pinasukan. This is my mother's bed room when she's alive. My dad decided to make it guest room but, mother's things remained.

Umupo ako sa kama. It's already dark. Nakabukas ang bintana kaya pumapasok ang malamig na hangin.

Napatalon ako sa gulat nang bumukas ang pinto. Kuya Ruben is panting heavily while looking at me.

"Kahel, let's go. You need to eat and take the medication." aniya at lumapit sa akin.

Ngumiti ako at bumaba. "Sorry po, kuya. Tara na po."

Napailing siya at hinawakan ang kamay ko palabas. Papa's face is scowling when he saw me. Lumapit siya sa akin.

"I told you to stop running, Kahel. Nakipaghabulan ka na naman sa kuya Ruben mo."

I pouted. "I'm sorry, Pa. I just wanted to play. I can't come out so, yeah."

His face soften. He kiss my forehead. "Eat your meal now. Then later, we'll play."

True to his word. After I eat, Papa play with me. I'm just 11 years old. Turning 12 next month.

My dad and I play for some hours. Ngumiti ako nang mapagod sa kakalaro.

"Tired?" tanong ni Papa.

Umiling ako. "Nope. You can sleep na, Pa. I'm fine. Manunuod ako ng movie sa YouTube."

He messed my hair. "Okay. Call me when you need anything."

Papa kissed my forehead before leaving. Tumayo ako at umupo sa kama. Kinuha ko ang laptop at nag search ng movie or concert na mapapanood hanggang mag 4 am.

Time flew so fast. It's already my 12th birthday. Papa prepared a small celebration. Just the three of us are in here.

I can't invite friends cause I don't have one so, that's the reason why we're just three here celebrating my birthday.

"Blow the candle, Kahel. Make a wish first." si Papa.

Inayos ko ang birthday hat at ipinikit ang mata.

Sana po gumaling na ako. Please, lord. This is my only pray and wish to you.

I open my eyes and blow the candle while Papa and kuya Ruben is singing the birthday song.

"Happy birthday, Kahel!" Kuya Ruben said and handed his gift for me.

"Thank you, Kuya." pasasalamat ko at tinanggap ang regalo niya.

"Buksan mo na. I'm sure matutuwa ka sa regalo ko." ani Kuya Ruben at ngumisi.

Umupo ako ng maayos at binuksan ang regalo niya. Umawang ang labi ko. Parang nag hugis puso ang mga mata ko.

"Thank you, Kuya!" lumapit ako sa kaniya at niyakap siya.

Tumawa silang dalawa ni Papa. After I open their gift, we started to eat. Marami ang niluto ni Papa. Habang kumakain kami ay mayroong kumatok.

Tumayo si Papa. Napatingin naman ako kay Kuya Ruben. Nakangisi kasi siya sa akin.

"Ano 'yun kuya?" tanong ko at kumuha ng slice ng cake.
