mark.

it was the end of the period, and there wasn't much do as i didn't have any work to do. i watch as yeri walk out of the room; i got up and walked outside to walk around. as i exit the room, i see yeri with him. we all know who it is because everyone wants him. 

jungkook holds onto yeri's arm and wraps his arm around her waist. all three of us look at each other, i quickly break eye contact between both of them and walk past them. i sigh and walk towards the bathroom. i quickly splash my face with water and dry it; i look at myself in the mirror and sigh.

i look at the time and next period was about to start in a minute or two. i quickly exit the bathroom and pass by the group of 97' liners. as i pass by them, i couldn't help but hear something i shouldn't have, but maybe i should've.

"can't believe she fell for it." jungkook says.

"i know. she's so gullible." eunwoo said and laughs afterwards.

i quickly get to class and sit back down before the bell rings. yeri was still in the front of the classroom with mina. class starts once again but i don't listen to anything, as what they had said still lingers in my mind.

"mark lee. are you paying attention? i've been calling you for the last 2 minutes. are you going to answer or not?" mr. hwang ask putting me on the spot.

"oh..ummm.." i slowly try to read the board, but it was no use.

"that's what i thought. kang mina, bring mark outside, you know what to do." mr. hwang says and we both get up.

"mr. hwang, i can d-" yeri starts but i interrupt her.

"no, it's fine. mina can do it." i said and walked outside.

once outside, mina looks at me but i shake my head. i didn't want to talk about any of it. if i tell yeri, she won't believe me. i stand on the side of the classroom door and put my hands up. 

"mark, you're not like this. what's wrong?" mina says and hands me two books for each arm.

"nothing. it's jus-, you know what nevermind." i said and faced forward.

"come on, just tell me. it'll be our secret." mina said and finishes up.

"it's just, i overheard the 97' liners talking about yeri. she had bumped into jungkook when she went out. i think they made a bet, they want to make yeri fall for him and then he'll break her heart. if i tell her, she won't believe me." i said and look down.

"mark, would you like me to talk to her?" mina asks before leaving.

"no, it's fine. let's just wait and see if they actually do something to her." i say and stand there with the two books on each of my hands.

"okay, whatever you say. i'll come take these off in about 10 minutes." mina said and walked back into class.

i sigh and think about how this is going to turn out. if i try to tell yeri, she might not believe me and this might break the friendship we never had. but if i do tell her, it might save her from the heart break. 

as soon as the bell rings, mina comes out and takes books off my arms, but before we can both walk in; yeri runs out of the classroom and down the stairs. we both look at each other and quickly follow behind her. as soon as we see her stop, we stop a few feet away. she was already meeting him. i look away and walk back up the stairs; there was no stopping her at this point.
