Tays P.O.V

"How do ya think we should wake her up?" I heard someone say, you know when you're in that half sleep-half awake thing in the morning? Well, I was in that thing. the room fell into silence, and the next thing I knew I was slung over someone shoulder which I realised was two-bit

"Two-Bit put me down," I said

"No can do Taylor," he said, "Have strict orders from commander Darrel to wake you up,"

"But do you have strict orders to sling me over your shoulder," I asked

"Huh, I guess your right," he said and threw me off him causing me to land flat of my back,

"Two-Bit what are ya doin' you better not have broken something" I heard Darry called from the kitchen and when no one answered he came striding into the living room with his classic what I call 'Darry Disappointment face' "I told you to wake her up and tell her to come down to breakfast not break her back, Keith" Darry gave me a hand and helped me up before going back into the kitchen

"That fucking hurt Keith" I scolded.

"I thought you were the badass girl who couldn't feel pain" he teased, I rolled my eyes and scoffed.

"Wait, who said that?" I asked in slight disbelief

"Johnnycakes," two-bit shrugged "Speaking of which I think the cake is ready," he said running into the kitchen as the sweet smell of Darry's iconic chocolate cake wafted into the living room I rolled my eyes. Of course, Johnny said that. I then followed Two-Bit into the kitchen I grabbed a plate of bacon and eggs.

"So that you know I'm not" I whispered to Two-Bit before sitting down next to Ponyboy. After breakfast, I got changed and did all that boring stuff; I grabbed my switch and the money I had made at the dx and left. I was supposed to meet Madi at her place on the westside, which to be totally honest. I wasn't looking forward to being in the westside. I was probably going to get jumped, but what can I do, I flipped my hoodie up and kept my eyes down to not draw attention to myself as I slowly approached the eastside-westside border. Surprisingly, I didn't get jumped once, probably because we were so close to the edge no one cared, but I like to think it was luck. Madis house was a cliche soc mansion. Giant front steps and everything. Madi was sitting on the bottom of the steps staring at her shoes "Hey Madi" I called, she looked up and nodded towards her mint green Cadillac "Aw sweet car man."

"Thank you very much," she said, climbing into the car "You know I was half freezing to death."

"Yeah, yeah I'm late I know" I muttered "But ya coulda just waited inside your house" Madi scoffed and shook her head.

"And risk my parents seeing I'm hanging out with a greaser?-No offence-but my parents are...what's the word traditional? I don't know, but the point is they would freak out and ground me for a lifetime."
