chapter five. a change of scenery
THE conversationbetween Jasper and Georgine had swiftly come to an end once Georgine had asked about Bella, asking if she could visit her. She had felt a lot calmer knowing her best friend had 7 vampires protecting her everywhere she went, but she still wished to check on her, still wished to see for herself that she was in one piece, for the time being.
Vampires... that was going to take some getting used to.
Georgine believed she had taken the news of the Cullen family being mythical creatures quite well; she hadn't screamed, she hadn't ran away, yelling profanities and begging for mercy. She believed everything Jasper had told her, about vampires and wolves, and this redhead woman... about her life now, ultimately, being in danger. But, she didn't know why. She knew she shouldn't have really believed him as easily as she did, because it was just so unrealistic. It was the type of story people would write books about, produce films for, not have it be someone's reality. And, yet, it was Georgine's.
Jasper had kindly accepted her request to speak to her friend, but making sure to let her know that their meeting would have to be at his family's home. This, Georgine was a little nervous for. She would be inside of a home, surrounded by multiple vampires, that could easily turn on in her just a split second, devour her like she was a plate of meat, and that would be the end of Georgine Brodeur. It seemed as though Jasper understood her hesitance, however, as he reminded her that none of them no longer drank human blood, but rather, settled for animal blood. It calmed her a little, but she was still on edge.
They had decided to walk about to his house━━well, Jasper had decided it was probably the better option out of the two he had briefly came up with. In the first place, he had arrived at Georgine's own house on foot, his incredible speed meaning it only took him a few seconds. Now, Jasper didn't want to overwhelm Georgine more than she probably already was━━she had just been told all about vampires, and wolves, and the fact that her life may potentially be in danger; he didn't want her to pass out from the speed of Jasper running with her on his back. So, the pair stuck to walking. Neither of them said anything, and they were both content with that. Georgine's eyes stayed glued to the forest floor, as she recalled everything Jasper had told her, thinking everything over, whilst Jasper left her to herself, knowing she more than likely needed this time to herself, mentally.
The Cullen house had definitely not been what Georgine was expecting. The house completely enshrouded by the forest, the trees surrounding it casting down a darkness that didn't necessarily make the building look sinister, but rather like it was one with nature, itself. It was weird, because taking one look at the house, and you would immediately begin to think that it belonged anywhere else━━probably not even Forks; it was too dreary, too dull, too grey for a home like this, yet, it made sense. It was a very modern house, sporting brown wood and slate grey, the colours complementing each other and still giving off a forest feeling. Windows aligned the majority of the walls, the sizes of them taking up the entirety of the wall from top to bottom, casting in both sunlight and moonlight, shimmering brightly.
