chapter eight. the kiss of death
AFTER everybodywas packed and ready to leave, they did. It was decided that the two (unfortunate?) humans were due a very much-needed break away from all the talk of the unavoidable fight that would be happening only days away. So, that night, Georgine stayed over at Bella's. It wasn't weird, or anything, purely because it had been a normal occurrence for a short while, since before they graduated. Lately, they were spending their time with each other more than anybody else they knew (save for the Cullens)━━they weren't complaining. This way, they could talk about whatever was on their minds━━the only two humans in the entire town that knew of the secret, supernatural world had to stick together (they'd probably crash and burn if they didn't).
The Cullens promised to continue keeping guard of both their houses, in case there were any more red alarms, or signs of the suspected intruders━━they were given the opportunity to relax, to forget, and they were grabbing it with firm hands.
It wasn't too late into the night when they eventually arrived at Bella's, but, straight away, they went to lay in her bed. For a while, sat comfortably in lounge clothes, they watched the television, a film playing quietly. Although, neither of them were really paying much attention to it. Both girls had a lot swimming around in their minds, enough to distract them from anything but their thoughts. Neither of them were willing to speak of what they truly wanted to, however━━yet, in the end, it seemed to have gotten too much to cope with by themselves. For hours into the midnight sky, the moonlight completely encapsulating their emotions well, they let all their worries go, floating away until they were nothing but in the far distant, stupid anxieties. Georgine spoke about her concerns that came to her earlier that day, and the words she had shared with Alice; the atmosphere in the air suddenly brightened━━they were two teenage girls, again, gushing over cute boys.
But, it was soon all brought back when it was Bella's turn to rant. She voiced her troubles; her conflicting thoughts on her relationship with Edward. Ultimately, Bella wanted him to turn her, into one of them, into a vampire. It wasn't all too surprising, since she had heard it before in a passing comment not all that long ago, but she was still a little taken aback each time, and probably consistently would be. She loved Edward, and he loved her━━Georgine understood that... but enough to turn into a vampire? She supposed, one day, there was a slight chance she may fall into the same dilemma, if it all worked out with Jasper...
Bella also spoke of Edward's compromise━━if Bella agreed to marry him, he would, in turn, turn her. It was kind of... weird. Edward was using Bella's wish of becoming a vampire to lure her into the idea of marrying him. Well, she supposed it wasn't all that weird, considering they were dating. Besides, if Bella wanted one thing, why couldn't Edward have something, too. It was almost sweet; that the one thing he wanted in return to Bella's wish was to just marry her.
