chapter twenty.
death to the sun

THE night before had been one filled with pure bliss and complete adoration. After Jasper had proposed to Georgine, they continued on their walk for an hour or two, all around the dense forest, soaking in their moment together. The shimmering moonlight continued to cascade itself down upon them both for the entire time, and Jasper couldn't help but think his fiancée to be an angel, a goddess. Every time he looked over at her, he couldn't seem to comprehend that she was all his, that they were going to spend the rest of their lives together.

It was something Jasper had always wanted━━to spend the rest of his life with someone. He had been through war after war after war, and he was tired. Jasper just wanted to relax, just wanted to watch the world go by with anyone, someone. And, that ended up being Georgine Brodeur━━he wouldn't have wanted it to be anyone else. After everything he had been through, he just wanted to spend the rest of his immortal life with his true love.

They talked and chatted all night, planning out their futures together, their adventures of a lifetime. They spoke of travelling the world together, if it was possible━━of course, they had to be careful of exposing themselves to any and all sunlight, but they'd make sure to find a way around that.

Georgine just couldn't wait to get started...

The morning had passed, and Georgine stood, leaning against one side of the wall, eyes pierced completely on Jacob's figure. On the table to the side situated Emmett and Carlilse, the former reading the newspaper, and the latter tending to his laptop. They were enveloped in silence, surrounding itself within each and every crevice of the room.

With her arms crossed firmly over her chest, eyes of burning flames scorching within, Georgine continued to watch the wolf. He took a bite of his apple, his own irises never once attempting to leave the forest floor where Rosalie sat with Renesmee in her arms. "How long are you gonna stare at them?"

Jacob didn't even bother to turn around when he replied to her, taking another bite, this time, more vigorously, more aggressively. "Shut up."

Georgine chuckled, shaking her head slowly. "I mean━━I just find it all a little weird that you can't seem to take your eyes off a baby━━"

     "I'm protecting her━━"

     "Stalking her, more like━━"

"You two," Carlisle cut through their argument, eyes looking up over his laptop and giving them both a warning look, lingering more on the female, "not now."
