oh merde
( twilight. breaking dawn pt i )chapter fourteen.
lightning never strikes twiceIT was only a few days later, when things started to feel like they were going south.
Georgine Brodeur had been basking in the pure bliss that surrounded their home and their atmosphere since Bella and Edward had gotten married, just days before. Happiness floated within her veins, an emotion so huge, she didn't think she would be feeling such a way again... at least, not so quickly after she had turned, anyway.
But, her best friend had gotten married.
After their beautiful ceremony, Georgine couldn't help but things were starting to pick up pace, things were beginning to fix themselves back into the places they originally came from, where they belonged. Georgine, even for a new vampire, felt she was doing great. Considering she had been so terrified of coming into the same proximity as any human, she had managed to embrace two, in just one night! Call her narcissistic, but she was proud of herself. She had truly believed things were getting better...
Until, she realised how shit she was at hunting.
On the past two occasions she had been (granted, they were both very early on into her new life, so she wasn't exactly going to become a professional at it, was she?), she had... struggled. The first time, sure, she caught a deer, and the rest of family seemed to be proud of her when she had told them, but, when they mentioned how they typically go for something much more bigger than a deer, she deflated. A deer compared to something like a cougar was pathetic, and she was adamant to prove herself to her new family that she was one of them, now━━that she would fit in perfectly, like she was a missing piece of their puzzle.
Which was where she was at now: standing deep into the body of the forest, skies grey as the heavens desperately tried to peak their way through, fists clenched and brows furrowed as she stood completely still. In front of her, not too far away, stood a cougar, as it drank peacefully from a small water source. It hadn't noticed her approaching figure yet, otherwise it would have ran off instantly the second it saw her. She was concentrating so hard she thought her brain might explode. Her eyes continued not to blink, fascinating themselves into the animal, telling herself, repeating that she could do this; it was apart of her nature, now. If she wanted to survive, she had to.
The rest of the Cullens (minus Edward, of course) stood behind her, eyes intently staring her way, mentally noting down every small thing she did, so as to tell her how she could do it better. They hadn't been there too long, but Georgine had already tried twice before━━both times including Georgine being too slow to pounce upon the animal━━and she still couldn't seem the grasp the concept of it. She was embarrassed, she hated it, but she knew she had to do it.
