chapter 6 ♥

I just finished taking a shower and was currently putting on my grey hoodie and sweat pants when my doorbell rang.

I quickly made my way downstairs and opened the door to a smiling Sophie

"Hi" she said still smiling widely as she walked into my apartment

"Hey so how was it" I asked curious to know how it all guilty

"Well..he asked me to be his girlfriend" she said with so much excitement in her voice

"Oh my god..did you say yes" I asked trying to sound happy for her

"Of course I did" she said

I smiled at her "I'm so happy for you"

"Thanks" she said and came to hug me.."this all happened because of you Mandy..thank you so much"

"You're welcome. It's what friends do right..so don't thank me" I managed to say after swallowing the lump in my throat..I really just wanted to go into a hole and cry my eyes out

Maybe I should just give up on Alex and move on with my life..and besides I guess you don't always get everything you want right..

"Hey you there" Sophie's voice brought me out of my own world

I quickly cleared my throat before saying "umm..what did you say"

"I said we should celebrate and have a little fun. Maybe go out to the bar or something" she said

"Umm I don't know..I'm not so sure" I said trying to look anywhere but her

And of course typical Sophie noticed that something is wrong with me

"Are you okay Mandy..you don't look so good" she said, her mood dropping

"Oh umm I'm fine it's just I'm a little bit sick right now, I'm having a headache so I can't go out at all" I said trying very hard to get her to believe what I was saying

"Oh my god Mandy are you okay, do you need me to take you to the hospital or wait, is it that time of the month" she bombarded me with different questions

"No no it's not really serious" I said not wanting her to worry for nothing

"Are you sure, I could stay with you all day if you want" she said looking panicked and I felt a little guilty

"Honestly there's really no need for that. I think I'm just a bit stressed out and I really need to rest. I'll be fine" I said trying to look a little convincing

"Okay then I'll leave you to rest but make sure you give me call if you need something or if it gets serious all right" she said with a serious look on her face

"Sure thing" I said and walked her out

After she left I ran upstairs to my room and cried my eyes out before sleep finally came to take me away

I woke up with a pounding headache and I felt like dying. Headaches are something I hate to have, they are so painful and each time I have them it literally felt I'm dying

And I know that the reason why I'm having it now is because of how much I cried yesterday and just merely thinking of it makes me want to curl into a ball and cry for eternity

I finally walked down stairs and into my kitchen so that I could take some pills to reduce the pounding in my head

Immediately I finished taking the pills my phone rang and I groaned before answering it. I didn't even bother to look at the caller as I was not in the mood at all

"Hi Mandy thank goodness you've finally answered I've been calling since yesterday but you haven't been picking up. What happened" she asked in her worried tone

The only thing I picked out of what she just said was yesterday. Wow I slept for an entire day.

Oh umm that was a bit exaggerated, it wasn't an entire day but it was close.

I mean I slept from 4pm till the next day, it's not easy you know I think I just broke a world record.

I guess I was indeed exhausted

"Hello Mandy can you hear me" Sophie's voice rang through the phone again

"Oh yea..sorry I got lost, anyway I'm fine I think I'm a lot better now" I said with a fake yawn

"Well that's good then" she said not fully believing what I said

"I'm serious Sophia there's nothing to worry about. And to prove my point you can come over if you're not busy of course and let's do some fun stuff" I said desperate to do anything to get her to believe me

"Yea I'm not busy at all, I'll be on my way" she said hastily

"Cool then I'll arrange a movie for us to watch and order some pizza. You good with that" I asked

"Sure. I'll be there in five minutes" she said and I could imagine the little smile on her face. I really love my best friend

"Alright then" I said before I hung up and start preparing all the things we would need and afterwards I ordered the pizza

A few minutes later my door bell rang and I went to open it

Sophie immediately wrapped her arms around me and started rambling about how much I scared her and that she missed me

She kept going on and on and tears started spilling out of her eyes

Sophie is a tough girl but when it comes to the people she love she's a real softie. That's one thing I love about her, she cares a lot about the people she loves

"Okayyy calm down would ya, I'm fine and alive" I said giving her a small smile as I dragged her to the couch

She quickly wiped her eyes and returned the smile "please don't ever do that again, do you know how scared I was"

"I know I'm sorry I just needed a little time but it's fine now I promise" I said

She heaved a deep sigh of relief before she speaking again "okay then just be careful alright. I literally can't live without you, you know that right"

"Yea I do. Now can we talk about something else" I said

"Yeah sure what movie are we watching" she asked

"Umm I was thinking of tall girl what do you think" I asked looking at her expectantly

"That sounds nice" she said

As I was about to start the movie my door bell rang

Sophie asked looking at me "you expecting someone"

"It's just the pizza guy" I said and went to open the door

I paid the guy and collected the pizza before I walked back to join Sophie in the couch

"Alright then let's watch the movie" she said looking excited
