CHAPTER 07

I sighed bored as I sat alone in the favourites wing, it's been two weeks since my first night with the sultan since then he's been asking for me almost every night. I heard that this bothered Safiye sultan a lot because he's been choosing me a maid she didn't know or have control over.

A knock on the door bought my attention from the white bird that stood on my window. I sighed sadly at flew away frightened by the sudden noise.

"Come in," I said and started playing with my black locks or as Ahmed now likes to call them, the night sky locks. Bulbul agha walked in hurriedly and walked straight over to me.

"Come with me fast, Safiye sultan wants to see you," he said pulling me up from the couch that also turns into a bed.

I followed him out of the Harem and right in front of the doors, Handan sultan appeared making us stop and bow to her.

"Where are you taking her Bulbul?" She asked raising her eyebrow. Hagi agha was standing behind her with a small scowl.

"Sultana Safiye wanted to see her your highness" Bulbul agha answered scowling back at Hagi agha.

"Very well," she said looking at me with that look that said 'remember what I said' I nodded as I bowed to her as a way to show her that I still remember and I will do just as she said.

We walked up some stairs before we reached an open area, there was a small fountain in the middle with at least four maids standing in front of a door. That Safiye sultan really liked to pamper herself.

Bulbul opened the doors for me letting me walk in first. The was so magnificent it almost looked as majestic as the sultan's wing. I saw a woman sitting on a huge throne with a white cat on her lap.

"Ah so you're Rose my grandson's favourite," she said as we bowed to her. Her voice held so much power it almost made me feel weak in the knees but I knew what side I was on already.

"You truly are beautiful as they say," she said complimenting me but I knew better, she was trying to pamper so I'll go to her side.

"Thank you, your highness," I said bowing my head in thanks.

"I heard that you've been meeting Ahmed's mother a lot lately," she said stroking her cat's fur making her purr a little.

"Yes the Valide wanted to make sure I was good enough for his majesty, although no one truly is worthy of his attention," I said back thinking my words over and over again before they were said.

"Ah you have a silver tongue then, you know how to speak and when to say it," she said letting her cat go on the couch beside her, the cat laid down on her paws and started drifting off.

"I wanted to see you today because I want you to be on my side," she said looking straight at me. She was very blunt and that shocked me making me freeze for a second as I thought of what to say back to her.

"Sultana I don't mean to be rude or disrespectful but I am on no one's side and all that matters to me is the sultan's happiness," I said trying to sound convincing. Everyone here was on someone's side and I knew that.

"You're a very smart girl, you did what Anesthesia couldn't and I'll give you credit for that" she complimented again making me almost roll my eyes but I held back.

"Thank you for your kind words and for letting me be in your presence," I said and bowed before going walking backwards until I reached a step, I turned around and walked out of the room only to see Hagi agha standing there waiting for me.

"What did she want?" He asked holding me in place by holding my upper arm tightly.

"She was trying to get me to be on her side" I answered back looking behind him to make sure no one walks by and hear our conversation.

"What did you say?" He asked leaning more forward almost in a threatening way.

"I told her that I was on no one's side and all that mattered to me was the sultan's happiness" I answered back.

"What was her reaction?" He asked letting me go and fixing his jacket.

"She tried complimenting me but it didn't work, she said something about being able to do something even an Anesthesia couldn't" I answered back in a hushed whisper fearing someone hearing us, we were still in Safiye's territory and she, of course, has spies all around here.

"You did a good job, I will tell Handan sultan of what you did today and she'll be very happy with you," Hagi agha said patting my shoulder before walking off. I smiled and fixed my dress before walking back to the Harem where Cennet was waiting for me.

"Girl where were you?" She asked the minute I walked in.

"Safiye sultan wanted to see me, why?" I asked raising an eyebrow at her.

"Sultan Ahmed asked three times for you and every time I come back you weren't here," she said making me grin happily.

"Go get ready fast as I tell his majesty that you'll be a little late," she said pushing me a little before walking out of the Harem.

I almost ran back to my room and dressed as fast as I can in a light blue dress and waited for Cennet to come a fetch me, it didn't take long before she appeared in my doorway again.

"Your majesty," I said bowing as I walked in, he had his back turned to me but the second he heard my voice he turned around to see me bowing.

"Rose come here," he said opening his arms for me. I skidded over and wrapped my arms around his torso as his wrapped around my shoulders, he was very tall so I'd probably look like a child who can't reach if I tried to wrap my arms around his shoulders.

"My Rose I missed you," he said placing his forehead on mine.

"I missed you too my Ahmed" I answered back before connecting our lips.
