I smiled a little as my daughter walked over to me and her sisters. She bowed to me before taking my hand and kissing the back of it.

If I could I would've burst into tears right now. I was giving away my daughter to marry. She looked very beautiful in the red I had made especially for her. She looked happy yet nervous, she looked up at me with her doe-like eyes making my heart swell as for a second I saw her as the young babe she was.

"Validam" she mumbled bringing me back to reality. I smiled at her as I was handed her crown which also would serve as a veil. I placed the crown atop her head before bringing forward the red veil over her face covering it.

Just then the doors opened to show Osman walk in. He walked overtaking my hand and placed a kiss to the back of it before turning to his sister. He smiled when he saw the ruby necklace he made her sitting around her neck sparkling every time it hit a light.

"Shahrazad my beautiful sister" he kissed her forehead. He beckoned the agha that held his present over. He opened the box and pulled a ring identical to the necklace he gave her out and slid it slowly over her finger.

"I pray for you to have a happy and healthy life," he said. Everyone around us muttered 'amen'.

After Osman left it was my responsibility to take Shahrazad to her new castle where the party was before leaving her there with her now-husband.

I sat down on the throne with Shahrazad beside me being the only one allowed there now being the bride. My daughters sat around me some on smaller thrones and some on the cushions while the youngest boys were here being too young to be with the men.

"Beyazid be careful" I warned the boy who was running after his brother Ibrahim.

"Malin go check on Atike" I ordered her. She bowed with a small smile.

"Don't worry sultana I just put her to sleep and one of the maids I trust is with her" I nodded my head feeling a little better.

As the time came closer and closer for my daughter to be presented to her husband I felt sadder and sadder at the thought of separating from her.

"Now don't be nervous my lovely everything will be just fine" I placed my hands on her shoulders comfortingly as she nodded shakily.

"I'm scared" she muttered under her breath.

"Don't be my lovely everything will be just fine" I promised kissing her forehead one last time before bringing the veil again over her face.

"Everything will be just fine" I patted her hands before leaving the room where she sat on her bed waiting for her husband to arrive as maids ran around lighting some candles.

I walked into the sitting area of the castle to see Mahmoud pasha my now son in law. He turned around and bowed to me.

"Sultanim" he stood back up and smiled lightly at me. Mahmoud was a young man not older than twenty-five, he was blonde with green eyes and had a very muscle figure.

"I need you to promise me, something pasha," I said looking up at him.

"Anything sultana" he bowed again respectfully. This man was perfect for the Othman family, mannered, smart, and a very good soldier.

"I want you to take very good care of Shahrazad. She's an Othman jewel and if you even think about hurting her you'll have an entire dynasty out there to kill you with me in the lead" I warned him. I could barely hold back the tear in my eyes.

"Sultana don't worry

"Sultana don't worry. Sultan Shahrazad is a priceless jewel in my eyes and I will love her and protect her with my life" he bowed before leaving to go to his now new room.

I looked around a little at the castle, this was Hatice sultan and Ibrahim pasha's castle when they were married, this castle held many happy memories yet also many sad ones too.

I took a deep breath before going to the room assigned for me because it was too late for me to travel from one castle to another and dangerous, you never know what was lurking in the dark.

The next morning after eating breakfast in my room I left very early not wanting to disturb the newlyweds.

"How's the harem, Karla?" I asked walking into the harem. Everyone bowed to me as Karla ran over to me.

"Very good sultan" she answered smiling brightly. I nodded and was about to walk away but she stopped me.

"Sultan I have some good news," she said making me stop and turn around to look at her.

"Sultana, there's this maid Meleksima she's the sultan's chief favorite" she explained. Yeah I remember her she was the one Osman choose during the party we made him a while back, that was at the beginning of winter and now it was spring.

"Sultana she's pregnant," she said. I looked at her wide-eyed before moving my gaze up to the favorite's balcony where I saw a petite girl standing there, when she felt my gaze on her she looked at me and when she saw that it was me she immediately bowed.

I walked in and up the stairs, over to the girl who bowed yet again, I walked into her room and took a seat on one of the beds there.

"Meleksima" I beckoned her over. She walked over and down beside me.

"That child laying in your stomach is an Othman prince and you must protect him with your life" I started feeling a little overwhelmed with emotions at the moment.

"And he must stay alive and be born healthy and if it was a girl then you must be loving towards her just as much as if you had a prince" I smiled a little at her feeling a little sad that Ahmed wouldn't be here at the birth of his first grandchild.

"I will do my best sultana just like you did" I nodded at her before leaving her room.
