I stared into his eyes with such softness; whilst his figure waited for my response in the rain - not paying any attention at all to the droplets of water that were splashing on his damp shirt.
"Hey Jade," Lance called.
I stopped typing and glanced at Lance (leaning his arms and head on the cubicle wall) smiling in my direction that made me look puzzled.
"What is it?" I asked, tilting my head.
"Do you want to go and have lunch now,?" he questioned.
Turning to my desktop, I see that it was already twelve. "Time flew by real quick," I thought before shifting my gaze back to Lance who waited for an answer. "Yeah sure. Just give a second to save what I got," I added, now looking back to my desktop once again to save what I have so far for my coming book.
But as I allowed my desktop to sleep, my phone vibrated on my desk. Swiftly placing stuff back in their original places before clutching my phone and swiping the green icon towards the other side. Once I did, I placed it next to my ear.
"Hello" I answered
"Hey sexy"
I heard a familiar voice that made my face red. Checking who the ID caller was, Luke's name appeared on top, which made me feel uneasy - in a good way.
"Don't call me that," I mumbled lowly enough for him to hear.
He chuckles through the other line.
"But you are"
"Anyway, why did you call me,?"
"Can't I call my own girlfriend?"
"Correction. I'm only your trial girlfriend"
"Still counts"
"Just please answer the question"
"..."
"I'm just wondering if you've eaten lunch today?"
"Well not yet. But I'm going with Lance"
"Oh"
"Why?"
"I was... just gonna ask if you want to eat with me?"
"You can come with us to eat"
I hear him sigh like a child.
"But it wouldn't be the same"
I chuckled.
