"I'm sorry sir," I spoke to my boss, apologising.
My boss looked baffled at the moment. "W..why are you apologising for?" He asked, waiting for my response while I hesitated.
"Well, the thing is, writing this romantic novel is getting a tad difficult each day. I'm trying my hardest; but I just need time to clear my head from everything that went on," I explain, hoping that he'll understand.
However, he responded with nothing, leading me to feel my palms sweating.
"Well," He finally said, "It's just recently that you finished your new novel, and it will be coming out soon. So I will allow this just once," He answered.
I unconsciously smiled from his permission. "Thank you, sir," I thanked him happily.
He chuckles lightly. "I'm glad you're thankful," He said, moving his wheely chair back slightly to open the bottom drawers of his desk.
I stood there confused yet curious about what he was getting.
"I was going to give you this until you finished your romance novel," He paused, sitting properly to reveal a white ticket with small letters and numbers printed on the paper. "But it seems that you need this now more than ever," He placed the ticket in front of me while I reached for it, grabbing it in my hands before retracting my arm to see the words.
"Train ticket to Nightfare City?" I lifted my head, puzzled by my boss's generosity.
"Do you not like it?" He asked.
I immediately shook my head, "No," I swiftly answered, "I always wanted to see Nightfare City but, this ticket must've been expensive," I explain.
"I know, but it seems that you earned it," My boss said.
Looking down at the tickets once more, not knowing that I was smiling unconsciously even more before lifting my head to meet my boss's gaze. "Thank you," I said with gratitude.
He gave me a sincere smile. "Why don't you have the rest of the day off to prepare," he suggested, "I'll give you a vacation," He explained.
Nodding my head, I thanked him once more before turning around to leave his office; making sure to close the door on my way out as I was walking back to my desk to pick up my things.
"Where are you going?" Lance asked.
"Boss said I can go home early, plus he gave me a ticket to NightFare city," I said, displaying the ticket in front of him.
"Shut up," Lance said, standing up to snatch the ticket, looking at it as if it was a treasure from an unknown vault. "That's so expensive," Lance said. "If only I could come," he pouted.
Grabbing my bag, I hold my ticket back chuckling. "Don't worry, let's save up more money so we can go together," I suggested.
Lance immediately smiled, hugging her tightly.
"I like that," He said.
Detaching himself from me, he waved goodbye to me while I responded with a wave as well. "I'll see you soon," I told him, turning back to push the button down.

I open the door to my apartment, pushing it back as I feel its skin on my back as it shuts tights; letting me hear an electronic sound to signal that it relocked. I stand there for a moment, thinking about things before standing up properly to walk towards my kitchen area to place the plastic bag in my hand that held cans of beer gently.
