Chapter 5: Who Did I Just Date?

Standing in front of my apartment building, I waited for Luke.

"I hope this is okay," I thought, feeling unconscious about myself.

I gaze down at my shoes as I sway side to side, continuing to wait for Luke as I play with my hair gently.

Ring~ Ring

I grab my phone from my purse and slide the green icon.

"Hello," I answered.

"Hi,"

I hear a familiar voice. I immediately move my phone away from my ear to see the words 'Lucas' on the caller ID. It was then immediately I placed it back against my ear.

"Hi, where are you? I can't see you right now," I told him, looking left and right to spot him.

"I'm at the corner, I can see you"

"Look to your left . . ."

I then shifted to my left. Immediately spotting Luke sitting in his car, as he waved at me, I unconsciously smiled whilst waving back at him. Ending the call between me and him, I began running lightly towards his car.

"Wow~ you got a nice car," I complimented, hopping on the passenger's seat.

He chuckled by my compliment before changing his direction to glance at the road. 

"The reunion is near your apartment so it won't take that long," He informed me, starting the engine.

I nodded at the information, relaxing in my seat and putting my seatbelt on for safety [Remember: Always Be safe] "Ready,?" He asked.

I faced him. "Ready," I answered.

Hearing my statement, he commenced on the road. Immediate sounds of calm music played on the radio that came to life once the engine turned one. Throughout the majority of the ride, the music helped lift the silent tension between the two of us. 

It helps me relax and get my act together. 

Yet unfortunately, the music ended. It was tranquil as I wanted to break the silence; however, I didn't want him to lose his concentration on the road [remember kids, don't be distracted when driving]. However, whilst the silence was still there, I felt my phone buzzing, causing me to look at it.

JAMES: I'm already here and I saved you a seat next to me.

[Thank you 😄]

[I owe you one]

JAMES: You don't need to owe me anything 

JAMES: But I may need a favour later on

[You got it, James]

JAMES: What are friends for right? 👍

Before I could type anything back, I got distracted by Luke's voice.
