Earlier that day...
How was I supposed to get revenge on Mare and Cal, mainly Mare, if neither of them were actually here?
In a huff, I made my way to their room, carrying some cleaning equipment so if anyone asked why I was in Mare and Cal's room, I had a reason.
This is ridiculous. I'm a Silver, for crying out loud! I shouldn't have to pose as a maid. That is a Red's job.
I opened the door to their room and stepped inside, closing the door behind me.
Firstly, I went into Mare's part of the room where her belongings still were. Unfortunately for me, she didn't have many things with her. The only item of Mare's in the room, was a bag filled with her clothes.
There wasn't much I could do with that.
I walked back into Cal's part of the room, trying to come up with something to do to Mare's clothes.
Next I looked through Cal's desk. It was mainly filled with books, seemingly all on war strategy, but there were several pieces of paper, some stuff on electrical things, a sketch of a motorbike, and a small book which caught my attention.
I pulled it out the desk and sat down in the chair to read.
It was Coriane's diary. Poor, little Cal keeping his dear mummy's diary.
Reading it was very interesting. And amusing. I couldn't help letting out a few laughs throughout at how Elara had gotten into Coriane's head. Not that Coriane knew that. Suspected but never knew.
I couldn't believe she'd ever been Queen. She wasn't worthy. Cal wasn't worthy.
I stood up, a plan forming in my mind. The diary had made me even angrier towards Cal and Mare. They had ruined everything for me and my family. And now they would pay. I'd leave that as a little message for them.
I dumped Mare's clothes, out of her bag, onto the floor. Then I arranged them into the correct pattern before going over to Cal's desk and taking out all the books. I ripped out all the pages and scattered them around the room, as well as tearing up everything else that was in there.
Then I went over to my cleaning supplies which weren't just cleaning supplies.
I pulled one of my knives out of the bucket and, just because I was in a bad mood, stabbed it into Cal's pillow. If they hadn't left none of this would have happened. Though I was rather enjoying myself.
Then I took out the small match box that was also in my supplies before striking a match. I watched as the small flame grew and licked at the edges of the diary which I held above it.
Soon the diary was on fire and I placed it on the floor. The floor was flame-retardant, with Cal being a Burner and everything, so the fire didn't spread. It didn't last long and as soon as the flames were out, I took my equipment and headed for the door.
I looked back on my handiwork and smiled. Torn pages littered the room and Coriane's diary, the only thing Cal had left from his mother, was burnt so badly it was barely holding itself together and was sat next to Mare's clothes which I had arranged on the floor to spall out the words: 'You will pay'.
I was in a destructive mood that day. There was only one other thing in the palace that was Mare and Cal's and that would be my target.
Their little baby Ti.
