I had to put Mare down somewhere before I set everything around us on fire.

She couldn't stay in this room so I quickly took her to Evangeline's room. She was there when I opened the door but I didn't say anything as I lay Mare down on the bed.

The air was getting increasingly hotter and I knew I needed to get out before I hurt someone.

"Look after her," I said to Evangeline before turning to leave.

"Cal, wait," she said before I reached the door. I didn't stop or even acknowledge her as I left the room.

"Cal, I can't just ignore me." She followed me out the room as I made my way down the corridor. I couldn't speak to her, or anyone right now.

The air got even hotter and I knew I was close to losing control.

"Just leave it, Evangeline," I warned and I continued to walk away from her.
"Cal, you can't block everybody out."

"I said, leave it!" I turned round as I yelled and, without meaning for it to happen, fire burst from me and hit Evangeline square in the chest.

She was knocked backwards and landed on her back, her clothes now blackened an smoking slightly.

I was about to go over to her when Sara appeared, walking round the corner.

"Julien sent me to check on Mare," she said as saw me but when she caught sight of Evangeline on the floor, her eyes widened and she rushed to her side.

They'd only been here for a few days and Evangeline has been set of fire twice. Though the first one wasn't me.

Ti.

I could feel the fire building in me again and I turned and jogged down the corridor before I hit Sara too.

I didn't look where I was going. I just ran until a reached an empty room, shut the door behind me and just let all the power out of me.

The fire burst from me until the entire room was alight.

I sank down to the floor and let all the grief and sadness consume me.

And guilt. Mare had been worried something would happen when we left and I'd told her nothing would.

I should never have let her go. We should have stayed here.

We hadn't even succeeded in bringing back more than one Newblood. Well, two if you count Felicity but her power hadn't been taken.

Her power, I realised with a sudden gasp.

She gives life.

I was on my feet within a second, my fire under control as I suddenly had hope, the first positive thing I had felt since we returned.

I looked around me and was rather surprised by the damage I'd caused.

We might need a new training room.

I left the room and ran down the corridors to find Felicity.

Maybe she could save Ti.

Ok, so I know this is a short chapter but it was important and I have another chapter that I need to write before things get much further on.

The question is: Can Felicity save Ti?
