I was pregnant.

Pregnant.

The last time I was pregnant, I had been happy and amazed that I was carrying a life inside me. Yet, I had also been partly upset knowing the baby was Cal's and I was planning to stay in Montfort, away from him.

But now I felt worse. Much worse.

This baby wasn't my baby. My baby was Ti, and I wanted him back. No one could replace Ti and the fact that I had found out I was pregnant at Ti's funeral, made me want to sit alone and cry.

So that's what I did.

I sat in my bed, in my temporary room since mine had been destroyed, with my knees drawn to my chest, and I cried.

I couldn't help but feel I was doing something wrong. That somehow me being pregnant was unfair to Ti.

Yet it was also unfair to the baby inside me now. Maria had wanted to kill Ti, and she was still out there.

I didn't want to have another baby only for it to meet the same, horrific end as Ti.

It wasn't right for me to put the baby in that position when they had done nothing wrong.

Such as it wasn't right for that to have happened to Ti.

Why did Samantha have to ruin my goodbye to him?

I needed that but she had ruined it.

Everything was so messed up.

So I sat there and cried.

A while later, the door opened, revealing Cal.

He immediately came over and sat down next to me, wrapping his arm around me and pulling me to his chest.

"I have some news," Cal spoke after we had been sat there for a bit.
"What is it?" I asked, curious as to what he was about to say.
"We caught Maria."

I sat straight up as soon as the words left his lips.

"You caught Maria?" I asked, unsure if I'd heard him correctly.
"Yeah, she's in the dungeon right now," Cal told me.

I immediately stood up, heading for the door.

"Where are you going?" Cal asked, standing up with me.

"To see Maria."

-~-

I burst into the dungeon, the door opening so wide it slammed into the wall.

"Where is she?" I growled and a guard immediately directed me towards her cell, Cal following right behind me.

The cell was deep in the dungeons, in a separate room so Maria had no company and no where to go. Four guards were positioned outside the heaving steel door that lead to the room where her cell was located.

There was no silent stone in the room as that would mean we couldn't use our abilities.

"Well, well, well, looks who's come to visit," Maria drawled as I stormed into the room, shutting the door behind me and Cal.

"Maria," I growled, glowering at her.

"Mare, what a pleasant surprise," she said, a smile on her face. "And Cal. I didn't expect to see you back so soon. Were you missing me?"

Cal simply scoffed before sitting down on one of the chairs. I, in the other hand, stalked up to the bars. Maria remained sat down, seeming unfazed.
