Ok.

So not the proudest moment of my life.

But it was one that needed to happen. It's Friday and tomorrow is the concert. I have asked every single person in all of New Amsterdam- if anyone would like to go to the concert with me. Half of them said they were busy. A quarter of them said they didn't like Motörhead, and the other quarter told me to ask Max.

Yeah....okay.

Why is it that when I try to do something....unMax related- everyone and the universe is pushing me back into his direction? Hmm? Why? Why is that? I'm trying to spare him. Spare me! But nope! So that's why I'm here this morning- pacing in front of his office like a damn dog looking for a bone...not like that...no...maybe?

No!

I arrived early enough to hopefully catch him before he drops off Luna. I miss seeing my...her...I miss seeing her even though it's only been like a day. I look at my phone. 7:45. He should've been here by now. I continue to pace and now people are starting to watch me like a tiger in a zoo. Slowly going mad. I check my phone again. 8:00.

Where the hell is he? I hope he's okay. Adele comes scootering passed and she takes notice of my lingering presences outside Max's office.

"Oh! Dr. Sharpe! Good morning!"

"Good morning! Have you seen..."

"Max isn't coming in this morning...oh! While I have you. He wanted me to delivery this." She reaches in her cup holder and hands me a coffee cup. I shake my head. Of course he's still going to buy me coffee. What's the matter with him?

"Thank you...is he coming in at all today? Do you know?" She pulls out her agenda book and looks over a few things. Her frail fingers deafly flipping through the calendar. It's quite odd for Max to miss half a day of work- let alone the possibility of missing a whole day.

"He should be in around Lunch. He asked me to phone in Bulldog's. I told him he needs to start eating healthier if he wants to lose some of that baby weight he put on." She happily says and starts driving off.

"Adele! I can order his lunch and pick it up for you. If you want." She smiles kindly and nods in thanks. Give myself a fighting chance if I'm going to do what I came here to do. I slowly make my way to the E.D and the second I see Lauren, she raises an eyebrow.

"Have a date yet?" I groan.

"I have asked everyone. Everyone Lauren and no one wants to go with me. Can you just come along?"

"No! You need a proper date. I'm tired of seeing your lonely, sad, and pathetic Snapchats. Did you ask Max?" I fume.

"Why does it matter to every single person in this hospital if I asked Max or not!? Hmm? What's the fascination with it?" I freak slightly and Casey comes over.

"Plain and simple answer? The sexual tension is thick with you two. I could cut it with a piece of paper."

"There's no sexual tension between Max and I!" I stake my claim and they laugh and roll their eyes. Brunstetter passes and they draw attention to her.

"Yo! Stetter! If you had to name two people in the whole hospital who gots sexual tension between em- who would you name?"

"Sharpe and Goodwin definitely." She states as she passes. When she notices I'm in the room she hunkers down and avoids eye contact.

"See! Just ask him. For Christ sake's you don't have to marry the guy! Just go to the concert together. He wants to go! You want to go! It either happens that way- or not at all." She clarifies and I glower at her.
