Few Days Later
Himura walked to school with Uraraka, Midoriya, and Iida. The trio besides her actively chattered away, leaving the peach-haired girl to ponder on her own. She marveled at the cherry blossom trees that were rooted at her side. Himura felt at peace, just looking at them—and now, it was all she could pay attention to.
That was, until Uraraka mentioned her in their conversation, averting said girl's attention from the scenery.
"Hm?"
Uraraka looked at her with a bubbly smile. "Oh! I was just saying how you're the quietest out of all of us," she said.
Himura stared at her. And then she looked over at the two boys, who peered at her curiously. A subtle blush colored her face before she turned away.
"I shouldn't be the one to confirm that," Himura mumbled, fiddling with the straps of her bag. "And why are you guys talking about that?"
"You should get to know Iida and Deku better!" Uraraka explained, wrapping her arm around Himura's and pulling her closer to the trio. "After all, you've never been that good at opening up to any other person aside from me. Remember what I talked about, back at that station? We should put in some effort, at least!"
Ochako's too kind, Himura thought. But I'm pretty sure that's easier said than done.
"I believe that Midoriya is just as reserved as you, Himura," Iida suggested, beginning to move his hands in an up-and-down, robotic motion. "Perhaps you two could strike up a discussion about how you two can relate to each other in that sense."
Himura looked between Uraraka and Iida before turning to Midoriya, who stiffened upon locking eyes with her. She then looked back at Iida with furrowed brows.
Why did he sound like a parent trying to introduce me to a new person?
"Um, I-I appreciate the sentiment, but ... can we also consider how Midoriya's feeling?" she queried politely, before pausing. "I don't want to make him uncomfortable, so—"
Midoriya's eyes widened. "Oh! I'm fine! It would be nice to g-g-get to know you too..!" he stammered, which definitely didn't convince the peach-haired girl, but she gave him a thankful smile nonetheless.
"Should we hang out after school?" Uraraka offered. "I heard that there's this really decent sale at S-Mart!"
"I think I have some time after school," Iida mused, turning to Midoriya. "How about you?"
Midoriya happily bobbed his head. "I think so too!"
"Ochako..." Himura mumbled, appearing reluctant.
Uraraka frowned. "What? You're not up for it?"
"No, I'm just more worried for you," Himura chuckled. "You always overthink whenever there's an item that exceeds your budget."
Uraraka gave her a pleading look. Eventually, the peach-haired girl gave in. "Alright," she sighed, sweat-dropping.
Iida and Midoriya looked at the bubbly girl, wondering what they were talking about. Uraraka grinned. "We'll be splitting the bill whenever one of us finds an expensive item," she explained.
"You— you do that?" Midoriya stuttered.
"I don't mind it, if that's what you're worried about," Himura clarified, with a slight smile. "And she returns the favor whenever I worry about my budget. It's a balanced deal."
"The struggles of a frugal life," Uraraka muttered, seeming to be in a different place.
