After School

Himura and Uraraka began to walk down the stairs of their academy, looking out towards the front gate. They were lightly chatting and joking around.

"I don't know why," began Himura. "but I always seem to wake up the moment I hear that there's food on the—"

"—Oh! It's those boys from this morning!" chirped Uraraka, abruptly taking Himura by the wrist and dragging the girl with her. "Hey! You two!"

Ah. I lost my train of thought, thought Himura, as they approached Midoriya and the blue-haired boy. What was I saying again?

"Are you going to the station? Wait for us!"

"Oh, you're the infinity girl," said the blue-haired boy. He turned to Himura. "And her friend."

"I'm Uraraka Ochako! This is my friend, Himura Koemi." Uraraka grinned and let go of Himura's wrist. "Um ... you're Iida Tenya, and you're Midoriya Deku, right?!"

Midoriya's eyes widened. "Deku?!"

"Ochako, it's Midoriya Izuku," Himura corrected in a mellow voice. Uraraka turned to her with a look of bewilderment.

"Huh? Really? But during the fitness test, that boy named Bakugo said 'Deku, you bastard!' while screaming. Right?" The auburn-haired girl mimicked how Bakugo had said the phrase in a more gruff voice.

Midoriya deflated. "Oh, well, D-Deku is what Kacchan calls me to make fun of me..."

"An insult?" mused Iida.

Uraraka placed a hand behind her head, feeling awkward. "Oh, is that right?" she queried. "Sorry..."

There was a brief silence for a moment, until Himura perked up. It seemed that a realization came to her, and she began to voice out her thoughts.

"Oh!" She smiled lightly. "Is it because you mixed up Deku for Dekiru? They sound similar, and the latter has a positive ring to it so it's more memorable..."

"Yeah! I was thinking of 'You can do it!'. It kind of sounds like that, so I like it!" Uraraka held up a fist and grinned. Himura quietly smiled and nodded in agreement.

A slight pause.

"I'm Deku!" exclaimed Midoriya, who was now blushing madly.

"Midoriya?" Iida turned to the green-haired boy. "You're accepting it too easily! Wasn't that an insult?"

He simply turned around and hid his red face. "It's like a Copernican Revolution.."

Himura blinked at the weird analogy. How does that relate..? Huh?

Uraraka tilted her head. "Co-pe?" she mumbled.

The next day began smoothly.

They started with homeroom. Nothing much happened there.

Then there was English. On the board were four options. The students had to choose which options were incorrect. Himura stared long and hard at the first option, and had to restrain herself from jumping up and screaming that the first one was incorrect, with the utmost certainty.

Lunch flew by in a blur. Himura happily stuffed herself with the food that she purchased, refusing to leave even a single grain of rice behind.

"Do you always eat that much?" inquired Midoriya, staring incredulously at her plate.
