achievement~ (๑>ᴗ<๑)
so, uh, chapter nine was 9000-10000 words in total (counting all three parts together)! i'm genuinely planning on making all of himura's friendships wholesome. that's my number two plan (number one is revising all of the chapters that i've written lol).
random q: do you think all of her friendships have been wholesome so far?

"... And here are the matchups!"
Himura looked up at the large screen before her, seeing all of the names displayed in a neat fashion. Her eyes shimmered.
"Oh—!" Himura turned to Yaoyorozu and raised her pom poms up to her chest. "Yaoyorozu! We're going to battle each other!"
"Hm? R-Right, yes we are!" replied the raven-haired girl, feeling a bit startled upon witnessing Himura's vivacity.
The petite girl smiled warmly. "Let's do our best, okay?" I'll make sure not to disappoint Yaoyorozu!
Yaoyorozu beamed and bobbed her head. Despite the fact that they had only talked a few times, it seemed that the raven-haired girl warmed up to the shorter female. It made Himura feel very happy—after all, she had been looking up to the intelligent Yaoyorozu since the start of the school year, but was too shy to really do anything about it.
"Koemi ... I'm scared..!" Uraraka cried out, grabbing onto the peach-haired girl's arms. Himura furrowed her brows.
"Why? What's wrong?"
"I'm going to be fighting against Bakugo..."
Himura looked at said hedgehog boy, who had been glaring a bit too harshly towards the duo. She turned back to the auburn-haired girl and held her hands.
"You're very strong, Ochako. Don't let him intimidate you at, okay? He's just a big ball of aggro," said Himura, but couldn't help but feel worried for Uraraka. She felt her motherly instincts kick in.
Uraraka nodded, attempting to express a determined look on her features.
"You can do it!" Himura chirped. "Fighting!"
"Yeah!"
"You're surprisingly energetic today, Himura," Yaoyorozu pointed out. "What's the occasion? I've always assumed that you were shy and polite, but seeing you like this is different."
"It must be charac— I-I mean, it must be because everyone else is riled up. Since everyone's trying to do their best today, I should do the same, too!" Himura stammered with a pure smile.
The ravenette gave her a few pats on the head. She couldn't help but smile warmly.

Throughout each match, Himura managed to learn more about the students that fought on the arena. Their motivations, aspirations, and how they fought or used their Quirks. Shinso from the General Studies class really stuck out to her.
You wouldn't get that ... You're naturally blessed...
You people ... born with your awesome Quirks...
Getting to follow all of your dreams!
Oh, how much she had wanted to comfort the poor guy. Who hurt him? Was it possible for someone like her to go down there and tell him how cool his Quirk was?
