Iida barged into Class 1-A's prep room, expressing a focused look. "Is everyone good and ready?!" he exclaimed, grabbing the students' attention momentarily. "The event's about to begin!"
"Yeah, we're ready," Kaminari casually replied, leaning against one of the tables.
Two weeks have passed just like that. Himura looked around the room, seeing everyone in their PE uniforms and chatting lightly among themselves. She chose to keep to herself, but stayed close to Uraraka and Asui, who were adding to the liveliness in the room.
I feel like I'm ready, but ... I'm still nervous, she thought.
Himura looked down at her bandaged hands. Blood was seeping through, but she didn't feel too bothered by it. She was just mildly uncomfortable. Hopefully, leaving it in the state it was in wouldn't make her feel too anemic by the end of the event. Perhaps the endurance training that she practiced will help her today.
"Midoriya."
"Todoroki ... what is it?"
"Objectively speaking ... I'm stronger than you. More capable."
Himura furrowed her brows and turned to look towards the two boys, wondering what was going on. They were loud enough for her and the rest of the class to hear, so she could only assume that this wasn't a private matter, but a declaration.
"Huh?! S-Sure..."
"All Might's got his eye on you, doesn't he?" Todoroki stated, not expecting a response. "Now I'm not about to pry into why that is, but ... I will beat you."
"Ooh! A declaration from the strongest in the class?!" Kaminari exclaimed.
Kirishima stepped forward and placed a hand on the half-and-half boy's shoulder. "Hey, man, why pick a fight now?! We're about to go on..."
"I really don't care." Todoroki shrugged Kirishima's hand off his shoulder. His face darkened. "I'm not pretending to be anyone's friend, here."
Himura simply looked the other way. She ended up locking eyes with Uraraka, who flashed her a kind smile. The auburn-haired girl gave her a few pats on the shoulder, and that seemed to shake off Himura's worries away.
The peach-haired girl smiled. "Oh, thank you, Ochako."
"Don't feel too bummed, okay? We have an event to focus on." Uraraka placed her fists in front of her.
"Right!"

"It's U.A.'s sports festival! The one time each year when our fledgling heroes compete in a ruthless grand battle!" announced Present Mic. "First up, you know who I'm talking about! The miraculous rising stars who brushed off a villain attack with their steely willpower!"
He pumped his arms up into the air. "The first years of the Hero Course! It's Class A!"
"Following Class B, it's Class C, D, and E of General Studies! And here comes the Support Course classes—F, G, and H! And the Business Course..."
That doesn't seem so fair, Himura thought, sweat-dropping. Give the other classes some attention too, Mr. Present Mic.
Once all of the students made it to the middle of the stadium, Midnight stepped forward and swung her whip. "Now for the athlete's oath!"
Everyone began to talk loudly among themselves, noting how their referee was an R-Rated hero. Midnight whipped again, the sound resounding quite loudly. "PIPE DOWN! Your student representative is from Class 1-A, Bakugo Katsuki!"
"Whaa?? It's Kacchan?!"
"It's probably because he placed first in the entrance exam."
The hedgehog boy made his way up the stage, with his hands fixated in his pockets. As he turned to face the entire school, he held a blank look on his face. And then he spoke:
