a/n: there's a lot of dialogue that i had to go through for Nighteye's meeting, so i decided to include the ones that i thought would catch himura's interest / greatly affect her in some way! sorry that this chapter's a mess

The sound of crickets chirped, accompanying the gentle sound of the cool wind. It whistled and howled as a group of girls ran throughout the city. A peach-haired girl had a light skip to her step as she navigated from alleyway to alleyway. Her ebony-colored eyes scanned her surroundings intently.

Two villains came into view, appearing to be fighting with one another. Himura's eyes peered at the two giant individuals and quickly formulated a plan that could complement her allies' abilities. As soon as they started to push against each other, she took it as an opportunity to reach out and numb their legs.

They hastily fell with a loud thud—the force of the impact nearly sent her back.

"Hado!" Himura called out to a periwinkle-haired girl.

An amused grin painted her features. "Why're they fighting? Is it because they have the same Quirk? Kinda weird," Hado sighed, and used her Nejire Wave to send them further into the floor and rendering them motionless. She turned to Uraraka and Asui as they steadily approached the villains. "Now!"

"Meteor Fafrotskies! " said Uraraka and Asui, just as they pulled a shared ultimate move. Himura beamed from ear to ear, seeing her friends working together in a satisfying way.

And with that, the villains were successfully captured.

Once they all met up with Tatsuma, Hado approached the three other students. "Nice. Really, really, nice. Were you guys nervous?!" she eagerly asked.

"We did it just like you said!" Uraraka chirped.

"Kero!  I wasn't worried at all, surprisingly," Asui replied, and Himura bobbed her head in agreement.

"Well, I'm glad that Koemi's back," Tatsuma smiled towards the peach-haired girl, who bashfully smiled back. "And I believe that you two are as good as Nejire said. I can see why she recommended you two. Good job on timing the attack, Nejire."

"Thank you for hiring us," said the first-year students. They bowed.

"Yes, of course," Tatsuma replied. "You may be students, but you're already showing great promise as fighters during this work study! You may even prove helpful for a certain case."

"A case?" Uraraka repeated.

"All Might's former sidekick, Nighteye, has requested help," stated Tatsuma. "It concerns the investigation and takedown of the villain group Shie Hassaikai. With the League of Villains possibly involved, it's gonna be an important job!"

Himura's eyes widened.

My father's ... associated with the Shie Hassaikai?

As Tatsuma continued to break down the news, she averted her gaze. Her voice slowly got drowned out as Himura immersed herself in her own thoughts. This might not be good for her—after all, she could throw herself into the face of danger again (but in her defense, the mission itself—even without the involvement of the League of Villains—was still pretty dangerous).

Would it even be smart for her to take part of this when she felt mentally unprepared? No. No, of course not. But at the same time, she's confronted her father twice already and managed to escape. She wasn't mentally prepared then, either. And there was also the possibility that he might not even be working with the Shie Hassaikai...
