Himura wasn't sure when she should open her eyes. Could she willingly do that?
She missed being with her mother and her friends. She hated being here, in this cold and damp room. It was all too familiar. That irrational, overwhelming fear had returned.
The peach-haired girl wanted to go back home and stay with her mother. She tried to remember her happy place—where she and her mother were smiling and having fun. But it wouldn't resurface, at first. It almost felt impossible, with the painful headache that rammed against her head.
Himura felt so tired. How long has it been since she moved?
She wanted to go home. That was all she wanted.

"Mommy is so pretty," Himura found herself saying, and gave her mother her brightest smile. She reached up and gently placed her small hands onto the woman's hair. It was the exact shade of peach, the same color of Himura's hair.
Himura found herself loving the color of her hair.
"Don't flatter me too much, Koemi," her mother laughed, kissing her daughter's forehead. Himura giggled at the sudden touch, finding it ticklish. "I think you're just as pretty."
Himura looked down at her lap, feeling bashful. "No, you're prettier."
Her mother smiled warmly. "You're prettier."
"Mommy," the girl whined. "Why are you giving the compliment back to me?"
"Because it's true!" she huffed, embracing the little girl into her hold. "You're the prettiest daughter in the world. You know that, right?"
"I don't, actually," Himura shyly admitted. "But! I think you're the prettiest mommy in the world! Always!"
Her mother blew more soft kisses against the girl's cheeks, causing a giggle fit to ensue.
"Mwah!"
"Mommy—! Hahah! That tickles..!!"

Two Days Later
"Mizutani," said Dabi, standing behind the man. "Why are you still hurting her?"
"She'll just heal herself anyways." He quickly threw his whip at the peach-haired girl again, who curled up at her seat. "That's all she's good for."
And then he stopped with a forceful huff, stepping back. Himura kept her head low, feeling unable to do anything. She was tired. How long has it been since she slept properly?
She worried about her mother and everyone else. Even throughout all of this. What if her mother got kidnapped too? What if her classmates were in critical condition in a hospital somewhere?
Himura couldn't bring herself to care about her own condition. At this point, her whole body was just numb.
"It's been two days. Are you really not over it?" Dabi continued, stuffing a hand in his pocket as he looked at her. "She's not saying or doing anything that's getting on your nerves. Actually, she's not saying or doing anything at all. Just let it go already."
