Himura jumped up from the seat of her couch and pumped a fist into the air. She laughed loudly, trying to impersonate the familiar and heroic figure on her television screen. "I am here!" she exclaimed, not bothering to try and sound like a man.
Her mother laughed at the silly impersonation and ushered to sit her child back down. However, the young girl continued to bounce up and down from her seat with a bright smile. It seemed like she absolutely adored the Pro Hero that was being displayed on that screen.
"Ko-chan, don't ruin the couch," her mother said, but couldn't help but smile as her child continued to radiate with vivacity. She just didn't know how to stay still. Especially when the man on the screen continued to do his carry out his heroic deeds.
"I want to be like him, mommy! I want to smile and save lives like that!" Himura pointed at the TV and continued to bounce up and down. The girl's eyes shimmered and clearly displayed her warmth. Her mother smiled even wider and ruffled the little girl's hair.
"You can be whatever you want to be." Himura looked up at her mother and beamed from ear to ear. "Just don't ever be like your father, okay?"
Her mother looked afraid. Himura stopped bouncing on her seat as she stared up at the woman before her, feeling concerned. The audio on the TV dimmed away, and soon the once lively room was filled with dead silence.
"I won't. Don't worry, mommy," the little girl replied, softly, and held out her small arms. Her mother let out a sigh—and flashing a warm smile, she engulfed the little girl in a gentle hug. Himura unknowingly covered her face in her mother's peach-colored hair.
"You deserve so much better, Koemi," her mother whispered as the girl closed her eyes.

"Father, where are we going?" Himura asked, looking up at the tall man besides her. He gazed down at her and simply smiled, before averting his gaze.
"You're accompanying me on another mission, sweetie. We're going to have a lot of fun, you and I. You'll be able to use your Quirk again!" he replied, gently swinging his arm back and forth, bringing Himura's small hand with him.
Her brows furrowed. Remembering all of the things that she was forced to do, she couldn't help but tightly grip onto her dress.
Himura looked at her clenched fist. "Can we do this another time?"
The grip on her hand tightened, but it wasn't harsh. An unsettling feeling began to form in her stomach. "Don't listen to what that woman says, Koemi. She doesn't know what she's saying," he demanded. He was, undoubtedly, referring to her mother.
Himura noticed that she never smiled that often around her father, nor did she ever truly feel comfortable around him. Everything about him just screamed 'business' and 'missions'. She hated the missions. They never made her feel like a good person, and they always frightened her.
Soon enough, the two arrived at an empty parking lot building. The tall building loomed over her, almost threatening her small frame. Her feet were stuck to the floor, refusing to move—but her father was quick to pull her inside. Her unease grew.
There were a couple of figures at the far end of the parking lot, standing or leaning on the concrete pillars. She looked up at her father, seeing that familiar smirk of his. She realized how often he smirked that way. It was as if she hadn't noticed his tendencies, even though she had to go on these missions with him ever since she was six.
