CHAPTER 9

SILVER LIGHTS, DETENTION NIGHTS

Blaise had never seen so many students awake this early in a Saturday. Normally he'd be one of the few students in the Great Hall at 8 am. But this time, Draco he waken before and practically dragged him and Theo to the Entrance Hall, where the goblet sat in the middle. It's flames danced in an electric blue as students walked by it, keeping a fair distance away to avoid the age line.

"A few years from now and we'd be allowed. Imagine it?" Theo said, the Drumstrang group had walked in, out in their parchments, go food, and left soon after.

Blaise overheard some talked about a prank to their ship, someone had wrapped it in Hogwarts banners and they still couldn't get them all off. While most laughed at the prank, thinking it was funny, some Drumstrang students glared, angry about it.

Then Cassius Warrington walked in. His head was high and his hands where in fists as he marched to the goblet and put his parchment in. There were gasps from the few students in the Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff tables. A few Slytherins cheered, Blaise included.

Cassius was a 7th year Slytherin on the Quidditch team. He was bulky and relatively nice bloke, at least with the Slytherins. Blaise couldn't help admire the guy for joining the tournament, knowing it probably wouldn't fit well with any non-Slytherin.

The Entrance Hall filled a lot earlier than usual, Draco scoffed at the fast-growing group of Gryffindors, as Potter, Granger, and Weasley arrived.

Soon the Weasley twins, their friends and the Dougherty joined them. Blaise wondered where Knight was and as the thought came to mind, she ran through the doors towards her group of friends. Her hair was in a ponytail and she was wearing leggings and a large shirt, clearly just returning from a run.

She jogged towards the Gryffindors, wrapping her arms around Dougherty's neck from behind, the Ravenclaw made a face at the sweaty state her friend was in. Then Knight jumped away and joined the Weasley twin who were standing at the edge of the age line with Jordan.

"Are the Weasleys of age." Blaise asked, not being able to help his curiosity.

Theo looked up and towards the goblet before scoffing, "Nope. They probably used an aging potion. Looks like Knight and Jordan are doing it too."

"Idiots." Draco scoffed rolling his eyes. Blaise kept his eyes on the group, more specifically the girl, her ponytail flicking back and forth as she jumped around waiting for the twins to hand her an Aging Potion.

One of the brothers stepped forward, took the potion, and slipped his name in. The second twin, who noticed nothing was wrong, yelled in triumph, while Knight cheered, bouncing on her toes. As the second Weasley stepped forwards a loud sizzling sounds started and the twins and Knight were flung back, landing hard on the floor a few feet away. A pop sounded and suddenly the twins had long white beards, and Lyra's hair turned silver.

The hall burst into laughter, including the three as they poked fun at each other. Blaise stared at the coils of hair that had gone from a deep onyx to a now dazzling silver, shocked at how lovely it looked on Knight.

"I did warn you." Dumbledore called from the Great Hall doors, he looked amused at the three laughing pranksters. "I suggest you go see Madame Pomfrey. She is already tending to Miss Fawcett, of Ravenclaw, and Mr. Summers, of Hufflepuff, both whom decided to age themselves up a little too. Though I must say, neither of their beards or hair is anything like as fine as yours."
