Out first proper encounter was during lunch on the first Wednesday once we were back at school. He was heading to his locker with all his books and I was heading the other way, I looked around to see if Emma was still behind me and I crashed right in to him. He was walking with Lauren. If you don’t mind my saying, Lauren was a bitch. A really, really big bitch. ‘Watch out, you idiot’, she scowled at me, Nathan oblivious to her mumbles. She treated me like scum even though she didn’t even know me. Lauren has a nasty habit of choosing who she likes, and unfortunately the people who she treats nicely never seem to see her be mean to anyone. This just means that almost everyone would stick up for her.

As I reached down to pick up my books our hands touched, there was a spark that flew it was almost like static electricity…but I could see it… really see it, it was at that moment that a shimmering blue wave raised through my arm and around my body. Then suddenly Nathan took a quick look at me, realised something then shot up and kept walking… he knew what had happened. But I didn’t.

I felt different… dizzy. I fell from my crouching position on to my side. What was happening? I suddenly couldn’t see but I could feel the warm breeze on my face.

That was the last thing I remember before I woke up at the sick bay. I shot my eyes open and slowly lifted myself up panting. I reached for my head as that was the first thing I could feel. It throbbed… really throbbed. Did I get knocked out or something? I looked around squinting my eye’s, there was a teacher next to me she seemed to be pushing me back to the pillow, being in this much pain I wasn’t one to refuse.

I must have drifted off after a few more seconds but woke up a few minutes later clear in the head. The teacher was saying something to me about heat stroke, but all I could think about was Nathan and what happened. I went home early from school that day with only a mild head ache but curiosity rushing through my mind.
