Hey readers :) Sorry that I haven't posted in quite a while, I've been really busy and since we just had Christmas I haven't had a lot of time to write. Anyway I hope you enjoy this chapter, and please vote and comment if you enjoy it :) That's all for now.
Cheers :)
‘That was a nice shot you did right there’.
‘Um… thanks?’ I said wiping drips from my chin and flinging my long brown hair over my shoulder.
‘That took quite a bit of guts’.
‘Well I was only hoping to just win the point, I guess his nuts were… just a bonus’, I added with a small smirk.
‘Haha haha, you’re really funny you know that.’
‘Well… I guess’.
‘Hmm…’
‘Was there any particular reason you came to speak with me?’
He started looking a little nervous and ran his fingers through his hair. I love it when guys are nervous, they look so damn cute.
‘Well you see, I kind of have a party on Friday night at 7 and I was just wondering if you could maybe… come?’
‘REALLY??! ME??!!??’
‘Well… yeah… you are the only one here you know’.
‘Oh, right, well… I’d love to come’, I answered trying not to sound too eager.
‘Well… great I guess I’ll see you there!’ He walked off with a smile, but then turned around. ‘Oh, 48 Chester Street’.
‘Cool, see you there’, I flicked my hands at him in the shape of a gun looking thing and clicked my tongue… ‘Why did I do that?’ I muttered to myself quietly; face palming myself and shaking my head.
I heard a whistle blow in the distance and I knew that I had to go back to… (*Shiver*) Volleyball…. We were on the king court by the last game. We were versing three sporty guys and one not so sporty girl… damn how I wish I could swap teams with her.
It was 11-10 their way, match point, my serve. I could see the guys on the other team being especially aware of the ball and protecting themselves… down low.
I served the ball but one of the guys hit it back over and straight towards me. I tried going for the ball but, instead, hit me square in the face then flew off and hit the pole holding up the net and then it went back to my face… again, I didn’t see where it went after that, I was focusing more on my nose.
It was literally like, face, pole, face, fly. Man I was good at making a fool of myself. My hand went straight to my face, it was wet… wait… what… I looked at my hands and there was blood on them.
Crap I had a blood nose. I jogged over to the teacher who grabbed a box of tissues and handed it to me. I practically ripped them out and basically smothered them against my face.
I turned round, I don’t think anyone but the guys on our team knew what happened.
I saw James holding his nose as well… oh please don’t tell me the ball flew into his face! But with me being… me… I’m just that unlucky. I brought the tissues over to him in case he needed some too.
‘Are you OK?’ I muffled through tissues.
I could see how his eyes were watering, he wasn’t OK.
I brought his hand down, his nose was at a weird angle. Fuck, I think I broke his nose. Oh, could this day get ANY worse?!
I dragged James by the arm over to the teacher to get help.
Please tell me he won’t need surgery or something!
‘Oh my… ‘, she said in genuine concern running off to get an ice pack.
That seemed like a good time to apologise.
‘Oh my gosh James, I’m soooo sorry!’
I didn’t really know what else to say, my mind was rushing and I could feel my eyes starting to water as my face was still hurting like heck.
‘No it’s cool, I’m… fine’, James called, even though he was trying to act all tough anyone could see how he was actually about to burst into tears.
I held my hand out to put on his shoulder as a sign of apology.
But there was something different about what I was doing. It was as if I wasn’t quite doing it voluntarily. When my hand connected with the sleeve of his t-shirt I could see things about him… everything.
Not just a few things about him but… what he ate for dinner last week, where he took his first steps, even some things about his family that he knew about.
When I came to realise what was happening I took my hand off and put it straight to my head. It was spinning like crazy. I hobbled off to the change rooms without the slightest glance behind me, and went straight to one of the showers.
I sat down on the little bench they had there for your clothes and took a deep breath locking the wooden door as I thought this through. I knew I had to stay calm, I didn’t know why, but I just knew.
I was starting to calm down a bit when I felt a weird tingling sensation in the middle of my back, like something was moving around under my skin about to break free at any second.
I swiftly moved my hand to the centre of my back, the feeling started to grow.
I rapidly took off my shirt hurdling it to the floor as I turned the water on in the shower and washed some of the, now dry, blood on my face. Hopefully the shower would help me to calm down a bit and start thinking straight. I thought for a second then I knew what I needed to do… I needed to get a hold on Nathan.
I started thinking about what to next as I heard the door open. I shut off the shower in the blink of an eye and reached for my shirt, not that it would do much good. The top I had underneath was dripping so it would get drenched anyway.
I squeezed as much water out of my hair as quiet as possible, and just listened.
