The blue sparks started flowing through my arms again but it wasn’t like the first time. This time it just kept flowing through. I thought about letting go but after a second I started… well… loving it. I was like an adrenaline rush, mixed in with chocolate, long hugs, hard laughs and the thrill of a first kiss. I didn’t feel dizzy like last time, but clear in the head and a little tipsy.
“What’s going on’, I screech out. At that moment he leaned in and kissed me. It was soft as first but then he wasn’t as tender; he started biting my lower lip. It all seemed a bit too much so I sank to the ground, he followed.
He dropped his bag off his shoulder and fell to a semi-lying position. He ran his fingers through my long brown hair and before I knew it the feeling of the grass under my legs disappeared. In fact everything did, there was no more wind or sounds of cars speeding past.
It was like I was floating through clouds, it was the most indescribable feeling, and words couldn’t really describe what it felt like.
We must have been kissing for at least five minutes, and when I finally took a decent breath he started kissing me along my neck, then rolled next to me and entwined his fingers in mine while our heads tapped together.
What had just happened? I didn’t even think I knew how to kiss. These questions pondered my brain for less than a second; from then on I just enjoyed the moment.
‘Shit’, Nathan whispered. But before I had a chance to ask what was wrong he popped up grabbed his bag and ran off. Just before he was out of sight he turned around and said in that most apologetic way ‘I’m so sorry’. I waited a few seconds before sitting up, and it took a few more minutes to soften the huge smile that had painted its way across my face.
