Grass

I knew I had to hold it together it wouldn’t be good for him to see me looking shocked, he had to keep calm. I knelt down next to him and held his back. He reached out for me in agony and I could see the tears forming around his eyes. “HELP!’ I cried, but everyone was still inside talking. He looked down but I wouldn’t have him crying, I lifted up his chin and stared into his deep blue eyes… they were memorising. I leaned in slowly and kissed him on his soft lips.

His lips were soft, but a lot colder than usual. My lips felt hot… too hot, but after a second they started to cool, I felt weird, like tired but more drained. It was almost like he was sucking the life out of me. His lips felt warmer against mine, I opened my eyes and glanced at his ankle.

It looked as if it were moving… back in place. I was shocked but I didn’t stop kissing him, I was held in the moment. The feeling started getting stronger… and stronger, almost too much to bare. I tried pulling away, but he just pulled me in closer.

It was like he was killing me… slowly… painfully.

I lost all the feeling in my legs, followed by my arms. The arm holding me up collapsed, and he stopped as I fell backwards and drifted out of consciousness.

My last memory was him looking like a deer in headlights… frozen in shock.

I could still feel but my sight was long gone. I could feel him as he wrapped himself around me, then he jumped.

It felt like we were flying, but I knew that was ridiculous, I must have been hallucinating… well I hope I was.

I woke up with a throbbing headache and pins and needles in my feet. I opened my eyes slowly, only to be blinded by sunlight. I squeezed them shut and felt around with my hand. I was laying on… grass.
