-Sadie-

I walk up behind Davy. He's on the boardwalk and he looks like he's in deep thought. I'm about to say something to jokingly startle him, but decide against it. I tap his shoulder.

"Hey," he says. He jumps slightly, he seemed very quiet and peaceful before.

"Hey, you thinking?"

"Mhm." He nods. I don't ask what about. He didn't seem like he wanted to talk about it. And I'm hungry.

"Let's go inside." I say, he starts moving back towards the café with me. He pulls the door open and holds it for me. That's nice. I think. We go up to the counter and order our drinks. Then we wait.

"How was your morning?" I ask.

"It was fine," He answers, "It was fine, I shoulda done some homework."

"Order up for Sadie....." The lady behind the counter yells. "And another one for, Davy." We grab our drinks and walk back outside.

"I love smoothies," I say.

"Ya, but iced tea is better." He laughs.

"Whatever you say." We start to walk down the boardwalk and past the surf shop. The sun is shining and it's getting warm out.

"Iced tea is better," he says throwing me a playful glare.

"But smoothies are the best," I whisper just loud enough for him to hear. We stare at each other for a minute with fake seriousness. We then burst out into uncontrolled laughter. We keep walking, our laughter eventually quiets. He looks at me, smiles, then looks out at the ocean. I look at him. I just keep staring. Either I am really desperate or he is just that attractive. His dark hair is whipping in the wind. I mean, come on, no one looks that good. I can see his muscular shoulders through his sweatshirt, if that's possible. Ya, I'm so desperate that I am imagining things. He's taller than me, maybe a few inches taller, not crazy tall, but noticeably tall. I can see his eyes just barely. They're the deepest green you will ever see, you can't look away. My dream comes back to me. And for just as quickly as I had thought and wanted, the thought was gone. I'm just desperate, It's nothing. Plus, why ruin an amazing friendship? He turns, I quickly shift my gaze to the ocean, but I can feel his gaze on me. I finally look at him and smile. He smiles back. He always does. Is he just being nice? Or does he actually care? Does he care about what I tell him?

"It's getting warm out." He says. He begins to take off his sweatshirt. Bruh, how muscular can someone be? Anyway.......

"It's so sunny too," I say, I take off my hoodie.

"It is." He answers, "It actually would be a nice day to go swimming. We could go later?"

"That'd be fun." I say, smiling. Smooth transition Davy, very smooth. I laugh to myself. "What time do you think?"

"Hmmm...." He says. "Well I have homework that is due tomorrow."

"Ya same." I say. "Maybe two then, cuz it's almost ten thirty now."

"Okay," He says, "Then maybe we should head back now."

"Sure." We begin walking back. We drop our empty drinks into a nearby trash can.

I get home and go to my room to find Samantha laying on my bed. She does that sometimes, I don't understand why though. I'm just about to tell her to leave when she starts talking

"He really isn't your type, Sadie." She says, raising an eyebrow. She doesn't look up from her phone.

"I'm sorry?" I say. "Who are you talking-"
