You wake up with your mate in your arms for the first time in almost a week.
And it feels incredible. You wish you could stay like this forever but unfortunately, you have an important Council meeting to attend.
It didn't take The Council very long to find out about Cyrus's death. By noon, Yoongi had woken you up with a mind link about a letter, detailing the urgent Council meeting that was going to take place that very evening. As far as you know, Cyrus's mate died years ago and they never had any children so it's unclear who will take his position as Alpha.
Letting a pack resolve this sort of problem on its own never ends well, it usually leads to a lot of violence and death over such a high position of power. So this is an issue that must be handled by The Werewolf Council.
"Baby, I have to go." You whine. This morning, you're having trouble prying Jimin's arms from you. As you tried to leave, he pulled you back into bed and latched onto you like a koala. After a few minutes, you conclude that begging is not going to work so you resort to bribery.
"When I come back, I'll give you all the kisses and cuddles you want, okay? I won't leave your side for even a second."
"Fine." Jimin mumbles and you smile. "But give me a kiss first."
You lean into him, turning your head to press a soft kiss to his lips. Jimin quickly turns it into a passionate kiss but you pull away before he can get his hands in your hair. Because then, you'll never leave.
He groans as you pull away. "I'll tell Helena to check on you in a few hours, she can keep you company. Get some rest, okay?" You gently peck his forehead before getting ready for the day.
The meeting isn't for another few hours, but your destination is far. You have a long ride ahead of you.
Yoongi joins you for a late breakfast before you get on the road. You grab your trusty horse Mia, attaching her to the carriage. Then you climb in, beginning your lengthy journey.
After a few hours, you finally reach your destination. By the time you arrive, almost everyone is already sitting and waiting at the discreet location, inside of a cave. It's the perfect place because it's hard for humans to find. And even if they do, it's difficult to get to where you are without the level of agility and strength that only werewolves have.
The climb down into the cave is lengthy and annoying, but you know it's for the greater good of your kind. As you drop down into the main area of the cave, torches light your way.
You approach the large rounded table set up in the clearing, where many Alphas and Elders of The Council are already sitting. You bow respectfully to the others before sitting in your rightful spot. Yoongi takes his seat next to you. You wrinkle your nose at the smell of so many unmated Alphas, their scents are typically more potent.
