"Nova, come back here!" You groan, holding her dress with one hand and reaching for her with the other.
"No!" She protests in a whiny voice, scurrying away from you. At two years old, Nova is more defiant than ever. One of her favorite ways of rebelling is refusing to get dressed and running around in just her diaper. Most of the time, you find it kind of cute. But not today, when you have somewhere important to be.
You put your head in your hands as Jimin finally emerges from the bathroom, fully dressed. Looking around the room, it only takes him a few seconds to figure out what's going on. "Sweetheart, are you giving Mommy a hard time?" He raises an eyebrow, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
Nova stops in her tracks, looking up at her father with innocent eyes. "No.."
"Yes you are." Jimin insists, giving her a knowing look. Then he crouches down to her level, getting on one knee. "Tell you what, do you want Daddy to help you get ready? I'll make you look like the most beautiful princess."
"Yeah!" She nods excitedly. He picks her up, making her giggle.
"Go get ready babe, I got this." Jimin reassures you, taking Nova's clothing from your hand while he hoists her up on his hip. Yup, she's definitely a daddy's girl.
Deciding Jimin will probably have a much easier time getting her dressed than you will, you just give up and head to the bathroom to get ready.
Today is Elyttra's mating ceremony and although you aren't part of her pack, she really wants you to come. She actually found her mate months ago but because he is a human, it took her some time to introduce him to the werewolf world. You bet that couldn't have been easy. But today is finally the day. He'll become the Luna of the Blood Moon pack, even though he probably has no idea what he's getting himself into.
You take your time in the shower and enjoy your time alone, which comes rare these days. Then you get dressed. By the time you are finished, you step out of the bathroom to find that Nova has her dress and shoes on. As she sits on the bed, Jimin is crouched in front of her, fixing her hair.
He has parted it down the middle, messily, may you add, and is now gathering each side into a ponytail. "All done!" He smiles when he has finished. "Do you want to look at it in the mirror?"
She nods and he picks her up again, carrying her into the now empty bathroom. "Do you like it?"
"Yeah!" She cheers, clapping her hands together.
"You do know they're lopsided, right?" You laugh, coming up behind them.
"But she loves it, look." You look at Nova again, whose brown eyes are wide with fascination as she looks at herself in the mirror.
You roll your eyes playfully. "Whatever, let's go."
You lead the way down the stairs while Jimin and Nova trail behind. She insists on walking so Jimin makes slow and careful steps, Nova holding onto his index finger for balance.
