"Y/n, they're not letting up."
Yoongi paces around your office as you sit in your chair.
"We can't give them any more money or resources. They're going to think that they can just walk all over us." You say exasperatedly.
"Would you rather them attack us?" Yoongi raises an eyebrow, stopping his pacing to glare at you.
"Of course not!" You scoff. "But if we keep giving them what they want, this is never going to end. Besides, if they attack, we can take them."
Yoongi rolls his eyes. "Fine. But when the threats start rolling in, don't say I didn't warn you." His voice is cold as he exits the office, slamming the door behind him.
The worst part about your Beta being your best friend is that when you disagree on pack decisions, it affects your friendship. You sigh heavily, holding your head in your hands. You're so stressed and you don't know what to do.
Just as you feel the tears coming, there's a soft knock at your door. From the scent, you know exactly who it is. "Come in." Your voice sounds deflated, even to your own ears.
Jimin slowly pushes open the door, his eyes softening when he sees your expression. He immediately approaches you, his face full of worry. "Y/n, what's wrong?"
"Nothing." You avoid his gaze, immediately putting up your walls. You hate people seeing you cry, it makes you seem weak. People already see you that way because you're a female in a male dominated society, you don't want to give them another reason.
Jimin sighs, crouching in front of you so that are eye level with him. He caresses the side of your face, turning your head so that you are looking at him. "You know you can tell me anything, right?"
You look straight into his beautiful brown eyes. He holds so much honesty and trust in them. You can't lie to him, not when he's looking at you like this. You swallow thickly and despite your reluctance, a tear slips down your cheek. "Oh, Y/n.." Jimin coos, gently wiping it away with the pad of his thumb.
"I'm okay." You reassure him, sniffling with an embarrassed smile. "It's just that..there's this rogue pack nearby that has been threatening us for a while. They keep badgering us for money and supplies and we give it to them to keep them at bay. But lately they've been asking for too much. We just can't afford it."
Jimin nods, assuring you that he is listening intently. "Yoongi thinks that we should just give it to them to avoid problems. But I told them that I don't want to because I think it will make the issue worse. So now Yoongi's upset with me for disagreeing with him and I don't even know if it's worth it, if I'm doing the right thing."
He grabs your hand, squeezing it tightly. "I think you need a break from this." He stands up straight, gently pulling you out of your chair. "Follow me."
You raise an eyebrow, but let him lead you out of your office nonetheless. He takes you outside and around the back of the pack house, where the stables and the gardens are. It's past dinnertime, so the only lights outside are the street lamps and the moonlight. He guides you over to the gardens, sitting down on the grass.
You sit down next to him, watching curiously as he gathers some twigs and picks some flowers. His tongue peeks out of the corner of his mouth adorably as he fiddles with them. Before you know it, he's weaved everything into a beautiful flower crown. "Ta-da!" He says and you laugh goofily.
He leans over you, placing the crown on your head. "I love it Jimin, thank you." You smile, immediately feeling better.
You attempt to make Jimin one in return, but it doesn't turn out too well. The end result is missing a few petals on the flowers and some of the twigs are broken, but you tried.
Jimin laughs as you place the crown on his head. "Sorry that it sucks. I'm clearly not as crafty as you are."
"It's okay, I'll cherish it forever." You expect to hear a sarcastic tone in his voice, but there is none. Looking into his eyes, you can tell he is being completely genuine. The thought makes your heart melt.
You don't break eye contact, completely captivated by his stare. How did you get so lucky to end up with an amazing mate like him?
You subconsciously lean closer until you're a few inches from his face. There's nothing more you would like to do right now than kiss him. However, you established with yourself a long time ago that you don't want to rush him into anything. "Can I.." You start, already breathless. You can feel your self control slipping as your eyes dart between his eyes and his lips. "Can I kiss you?"
"Please." Jimin gives you a one word answer, but it's enough to hear that his voice is rough with desire. You immediately swoop in, capturing his lips with your own.
Jimin gasps and you take that opportunity to slip your tongue into his mouth. One of his hands grab onto your shoulder to steady himself while the other moves to the back of your head, gently tugging the hair at your nape.
You groan into his mouth. He tastes so sweet, you could kiss him forever.
He whimpers against your lips, submitting to you and allowing you to explore his mouth. Then you kiss down his jawline, gently scraping your teeth against his neck as you make your way down to his collarbone. When you make it to where your mark is supposed to be, you can feel your canines growing sharper. "Y/n.." Jimin mumbles, his voice laced with concern.
But you ignore him, overwhelmed with your desire to mark him here and now. You pull your head back, ready to sink your teeth into his neck when Jimin pushes against you with all of his might.
You fall back onto your elbows on the grass, your eyes widening as you snap out of the lust-fueled daze you were in. That is when you realize what you've done. "Shit..shit, Jimin I'm so sorry." You scramble up onto your knees, crawling over to him.
He has his knees pulled into his chest, his head down. You gently run your fingers through his hair and he flinches away from you. Your heart sinks. He's afraid of you.
You retract your hand from him. "I'm so sorry, I never meant to hurt you. I just lost control for a second."
He finally looks up at you. And to your surprise, there's no fear in his eyes, or even anger. Just disappointment. Which, for some reason, feels even worse.
"I'm not ready, you know that." His voice is soft as always, but you can still detect the disappointment in his tone.
"Yes, I know." You look down, feeling guilty. "I'll control myself better, I promise."
After a few beats of silence, you hear Jimin sigh. Then you feel his hand on your palm as he laces his fingers with yours. "C'mon, let's go inside."
